Yep, this is a known issue with the Dxr3 ... look at the recent list archives 
- basically the BBC use an (proper) extension to the DVB standard to describe 
a 4:3 picture within a 16:9 frame. unfortunately, VDR/Dxr3 doesn't support 
this, so you end up seeing the bizarre and rather awful cropping effect :(

There's no fix as yet :/
