Thanks for the advice... unfortunately it didn't help out.

Just downgraded to imlib2-1.1.2 and am still getting the error.  
According to the documentation the burn plugin was tested with 1.0.5 .. 
 will try downgrading to that version as well to try that out.

Not sure though if there were any substantial differences between these 
versions.
