[linux-dvb] Using NOVA-t in the UK

I have been attempting to receive UK DVB-T broadcasts using the Hauppauge
NOVA-t card. The card is now in stock at retailers in the UK and provides
access to the first useful UK channels using a PC - BBC1, BBC2, BBC Choice,
ITV1, ITV2, Channel 4, Channel 5 plus others. These are all broadcast
unencrypted using DVB-T in the UK.

After patching the driver as mentioned in previous threads (inserting the
line "case 0x1005:" before the line "case 0x1004:" in dvb.c) to correctly
identify the card as a DVB_CARD_TT_BUDGET, the driver seems to initialise
correctly.

There are 6 DVB-T multiplexes broadcast across the UK (labelled 1,2,A,B,C,D).
The channel numbers that these broadcast on (in the range 21-68) can be found
at:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/reception/tv_transmitters/tv_digit.shtml

It includes a link to a postcode search facility that will tell you the
recommended transmitter to use in your location. In my case it is Crystal
Palace.

My current stumbling block is identifying the correct parameters to pass to
the FE_SET_FRONTEND ioctl. I have emailed the BBC for help, but I would be
grateful if anyone could help me. I would expect that users in other
countries would experience the same problem. An extensive search using
google has failed to provide any links to this information.

This is all based on the assumption that the current CVS driver should work
with this card. I can only test this once I am sure I am passing the correct
parameters to the tuning routines. Can any of the driver developers
(vacationing or not) comment on this?

Regards,

Dave.
