Sorry, that I did not answer before. I am just starting to regain
complete range of movement in my arm again ...

We now put our own development tree on our page at 
http://www.metzlerbros.org/dvb/index.html
It contains the proper code for the budget cards. It also has improved
support for the video-in features of the KNC card. 
We rewrote some (more will follow) of the frontend drivers to use the 
standard kernel I2C. They also allow proper configuration by the main driver 
according to actual tuner type.
