This is an excellent point! Thanks for pointing it out! 

I've had those before when I've been connecting my PC to my amp (which is
in another room). The result is a constant low frequency hum. I bought a
'galvanit separator' (for audio RCA/cinch cables) which uses a coil to
transfer the signal from one of the cable to the other so that there is no
pysical contact. This disables the ground loop.

Nope, I've got only one SCART and that was used by the PC.

Yes, I'll try this tonigh if I can spare a few minutes. Thanks for the 
idea! I'll see if the ground breaker that I have works.
