[linux-dvb] Re: Pinnacle pctv sat

Hello Hoger !

I successfuly compile the dvb-kernel based driver on my system, but i don't know :

- How to complie the vdr and other softwares? These programs search the standard "dvb" source code directory, but not the "dvb-kernel" dirs.
- What is the name the software mpeg decoder plugin for vdr?

Thank you

Demeter Tibor

Hello Holger !

Thank you for the fast reply!

I have some question:

The old "pinnacle experimental" driver is need for this driver to work?

not if you use the dvb-kernel/ tree.

I need load the "v4l" module when starting the Xfree86 (in the XF86config file) or enhought by the ./insmod load command?

?!? don't know what you mean, sorry.

This driver how to work with VDR? I remember the old vdr not work, because i not have a dvd decoder chip on the pinnacle card. For this problem currently avalible an or other solution?

Unless somebody wrote some software MPEG decoder support for VDR you still can't use it - VDR needs at least one av7110 based card containing an MPEG decoder and to draw it's OSD.

The video in port is working with this driver?

don't know, ask Florian Schirmer for details.

Holger
