Hi Werner!

Yes 'No lights' means also no audio. This is odd because DD2.0 and DD5.1
did work just fine when I was using vdr 1.3.18. Now with 1.3.20 I only
get it work with DD5.1 after the vdr-1.3.20-ac3-transfer.diff patch.

Does this mean that with VDR-1.3.18 the firmware has played DD2.0 and
DD5.1? If 1.3.19 and 1.3.20 can not do so I'd like to suppose that
the re-assembling code for the AC3 frames of the payload of the PS1
PES stream is broken ... at least for DD2.0.

Yes, vdr 1.3.18 played DD2.0 and DD5.1 in Live mode, 1.3.19 and 1.3.20
not. I just confirmed this for switching back to 1.3.18 and it is still
working at both DD2.0 and DD5.1. I have many patches applied to 1.3.18
and that doesn't broke audio playback in any way, so I must say there's
something broken in the AC3 re-assembling code in newer vdr versions.

Can you replay a recording done with VDR 1.3.18 with VDR 1.3.20?
Can you replay a recording done with VDR 1.3.18 with the test_av_play
binary (-> http://www.suse.de/~werner/test_av-1.0rc5.tar.bz2)?

Hi all + Werner,
I also have problems replaying old recordings with vdr 1.3.20.

The are replayed as PCM, only.

When replaying them with vdr-1.3.15 + AC3overDBV or trying test_av_play, my receiver plays them as 5.1 or 2.0 respectively. All the above is done with formware 261d from cvs.

I don't have any stutterig, though.

...and I haven't find any fix :(
AC3 playback is still working in DD5.1, DD2.0 doesn't. Now I noticed
that even DD5.1 isn't rock solid every time, so I have to switch
channels back and forth when receiver doesn't go to DD5.1 mode.
My receiver is Pioneer VSX-C300 and that it is in AC3overDVB supported
list. http://www.muempf.de/down/DD-receiver-status.txt

Hmmm ... the format of the PS1 PES headers and the order of
AC3 frames in the PES payload could be a problem for the cDolbyRepacker. IMHO two samples, one wth DD5.1 and one with
DD2.0, done with VDR 1.3.18 are required to analyze the problem.

Maybe Reinhard knows more about.
Nevertheless, which channel has this problem for you?

Werner
