You meant Mpeg Audio decoded into PCM ?? This would be a problem
if you have disabled DD in the VDR configuration menu.
If you replay AC3 as PCM your speakers will be very noisy.

In other words: the firmware does it correct but something goes wrong
in VDR 1.3.20 ... maybe your setup of VDR 1.3.20 does not allow
AC3 audio.

Stutterig is only a problem if the data stream is not smooth
and/or the AV receiver has problems with the data stream.

The first can happen, e.g. by LiveTV because of the offset
between audio and video which can not avoided because the
reqiured data for synching are not yet available.
