[linux-dvb] Re: OT: hardware mpeg2 encoder card with linux support?

Sigma Designs Harmony card uses a Cirrus Logic CS92288 encoder and is very nice for 1.3-8.5Mbps. Linux driver source included with SDK. unfortunately you also get to pay for an EM8475.

ADS Technologies will have a USB device with CS92288 in late April-May timeframe. (when you find the press release, ignore the "consumer availability scheduled for March 2003"!)

i've been searching for boards with Broadcom BCM7040 or BCM7041 (Kfir2) as well, but can only find set-top boxen. IEI, out of Taiwan, apparently produced a board, IVC-2400, at one time but it is now discontinued and i can't find any. (of course, i've only called these countries: UK, Italy and Texas.)
