Hi All,
Some HDTV tuner cards are now available in the US, which appear to be
similar to DVB cards, so I am wondering if anyone here has some
thoughts on using the DVB drivers with HD cards.
The card I have, the FusionHDTV, is based on the bt878 chip, with a
Philips NTSC/ATSC tuner, and an Oren demodulator. (

I have used the bttv driver, and it recognizes the bt878, but
doesn\'t display anything.
So you probably only have to write the frontend driver. Don't know if
any documentation for your demodulator chip is available, you'll
probably have to do some reverse engineering of the Windows driver and
maybe some protocol sniffing on the communicatio bus between PCI bridge
and demodulator. Maybe they use i2c, maybe just a microcontroller bus
protocol.
