To settle this issue we have to answer the following question: Is 
channel switching slower with

a) dvb-kernel + kernel 2.6

or (not xor ;) )

b) dvb-kernel + kernel 2.4

If a) and b) can this be solved? Development has run for some time in 
dvb-kernel _only_, thus it would be a pity to backport/throw away that.

IMHO the separation of dvb-kernel and dvb-apps should be made anyway, my 
question was just, if I should write a new top-level Makefile.
