Instant Timer with a given Channel

Hello I want to create a new instant Recording from a Plugin at a specific Channel. The normal way to create a instant Recording is to call cRecordControls::Start (); This will create a Recording of the current Channel. So if I want to create a recording on an different Channel, I can create a new Timer and give this new Timer to cRecordControls::Start (). cTimer *timer = new cTimer(true,false); cRecordControls::Start (timer); But new cTimer(true, false) also use the current Channel. Is it possible that Klaus change the Constructor from cTimer::cTimer(bool Instant, bool Pause) to cTimer::cTimer(bool Instant, bool Pause, int channel = 0) And the line 30 in timers.c from channel = Channels.GetByNumber(cDevice::CurrentChannel()); to channel = Channels.GetByNumber(channel?channel:cDevice::CurrentChannel()); In this case i can create a new recording by cTimer *timer = new cTimer(true,false,MYCHANNEL); cRecordControls::Start (timer); please!!! :-) Yours sincerely, Patrick

The dreaded "Video Data Stream Broken", new info?

My setup is a Hauppauge full-feature DVB-C w/CI+CAM in a Fedora Core 4 installation with ready-built vdr-1.3.37-0.lvn.1.4 and vdradmin-0.97-1.lvn.6.am3.4.2.4 from Livna.org. Last night, I noticed an interesting thing and today I was able to confirm it: when the vdr process gets a bit older (a few hours?), something happens to the dvb drivers and they start producing errors about every 30 seconds, even losing channel lock occasionally. Once vdr has been restarted (even though in this setup the dvb kernel drivers do not seem to get reloaded) everything returns to normal. Attached are two text files, before.txt and after.txt, which show the status output of femon (from dvb-apps-1.1.0-1.fc4) while a 12-hour old vdr is running and immediately after a restart. Am I just imagining things, or is this something that would need to be researched further? -- /* * * Otto J. Need to delay ttxtsubs when using xine-plugin

Hello When watching program with teletext subtitles and xine-plugin, the subtitles are displayed one or 2 seconds too soon. Is there a way to delay the display of these subtitles ? (I've tried to tune the "Delay" parameter of "subtitles" plugin to no avail. This parameter has no effect of teletext subtitles) Thanks for any help

Concerns about changing the API-definition of 'cStatus::Replaying()' and 'cStatus::Recording()' of VDR?

Hi list! I've a problem to check which recording is currently replayed in VDR. I know, that there is a the function 'cStatus::Replaying()', which delivers the 'Name' of the recording, but unfortunatly this is only a short version and not the full FileName. So there is no (secure) way to check which of several recordings which have the same name is actually replayed. I tried to use 'cReplayControl::LastReplayed()' but I have some problems with that and Klaus told me that this is a bad idea to call it out of a thread. So he considers changing the API of 'cStatus::Replaying()' and 'cStatus::Recording()' so it returns the full FileName (Name incl. the path to the recording) instead of the Name. He told me that I should ask the list if anybody would have a problem with that (plugins, scripts and so on) ... so here it is ... what do you all think about that? Any concerns? Creating great DVD :)

Hello, the new release of http://sourceforge.net/projects/videotrans/ includes a lots of fixes (Fixed a number of bugs and added new features for creating DVD menus. DVD menus now have many more options. Also, the program is now compatible with some versions of ImageMagick and mplayer that act in different ways than other versions of those programs.) AND is now able to import from VDR "info.vdr" for the creation of its .info files !!! Process id in syslog

Before the conversion to NPTL, the syslog entries showed the pid of each individual thread, so that it was easy to tell which thread had issued a particular message. Now, with NPTL, all VDR syslog entries have the same pid, which is that of the foreground thread. This is pretty useless, because in case of a problem it's important to know exactly which thread has issued which message. Since I couldn't find any information on this, maybe somebody here knows how openlog() needs to be called in order to have the individual thread pids displayed in syslog messages on an NPTL system. ERROR: can't open filter handle on ...

Hi, I've installed VDR (1.3.37) and i have random problems changing channels: sometimes the channel image doesn't appear and I only get a blank screen. The USB dvb-t device works well with kaffeine and mplayer. /var/log/messages: Dec 30 22:57:56 pandora vdr[8200]: switching to channel 28 Dec 30 22:57:56 pandora vdr[8200]: ERROR: can't open filter handle \ on '/dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0' Any ideas?
