Hi, I've made a small patch for timeline-0.9.0 to make it work with vdr- 1.3.23 (I hope Jürgen doesn't mind, but its one of the most important plugins for me). Showing aspect ratio or providing automatic widescreen switching signals

I just got a widescreen TV and put VDR in 16:9 mode. However there is still a lot of content still in 4:3 mode and it sometimes takes me a while to spot the short/fat people and switch the TV! It would help to see the aspect on the overlay when switching channels. Are there any plugins or patches that show the aspect on the overlay? Even better, are there any plugins that deal with providing automatic 16:9/4:3 switching signals for Scart leads? Of course a hardware mod would be required... Hi, I've just released VDRAdmin-0.97-am3.2 at http://andreas.vdr-developer.org. 2005-05-12: 0.97-am3.2 - Added "make uninstall" to remove VDRAdmin from your system if you have installed it using "make install". Please always use this before you install a new release! - Fixed programming of repeating timers when day is "D" (Thanks to "maxkr" for reporting this). - Print date in prog_list & prog_list2 in system's locale. Please comment! - More transparent "selected channels" usage. - Added reccmds.conf content to rec_list (needs valid VDRCONFDIR in vdradmind.conf) - AutoTimers can now be limited to certain weekdays (Patch submitted by Magnus Schmidt). - Streaming can be turn on/off for live viewing and recordings viewing (Based on code submitted by Tobias Grimm). - Added streaming button to prog_list2. - Fixed handling of incorrect start/stop times in AutoTimer. - Changed localisation to use gettext() (Thanks to Tobias Grimm for doing most of the needed work). - Language can no longer be set in VDRAdmin, it's taken from your system's setting. HISTORY: - fixed Volume+ and Volume- in TV (Reported by Unimatrix0) - fixed missplaced channel name prog_summary (Reported by several people) - added updated English templates (Supplied by C.Y.M) - now VDRAdmin understands timers format from vdr1.3.22- and vdr1.3.23 (Supplied by Stefan Neuwirth) - fixed small display problem in timeline. Playing .avi .mpg files from VDR-Xine

Hi group. I have a collection of media I'd like to play from the VDR interface under Xine. Does anyone know of a plugin that will let VDR browse playlists, play/pause/ff/rw through .avi files? I know I can use Xine for this, but I want to control it all from the remote and the key mappings don't share between VDR and Xine well! Thanks Simon

[ANNOUNCE] UTF-8 patch 0.0.3 with Freetype2, enAIO for vdr-1.3.24

Hi All! Sorry my English. Probably many already faced a problem of simultaneous display of various international letters in vdr. For example it is impossible to use simultaneously both Russian and German letters. I recently have put myself vdr and it at once was not pleasant to me. So i have changed all this. As all fonts of the different sizes and styles was necessary at the same time and freetype2 library to vdr to fasten. These Patchs are made for vdr version 1.3.24 one with vanilla vdr-1.3.24 and with enAIO vdr-1.3.24. Please set locale for correct work at UTF8. to enAIO users: Please test enAIO functionality with this patch. I also have a little improved Easyinput patch. Now for each language there is a character set. Please change these character sets for your language in file i18n.c . In setup.conf added some parameters for definition of fonts. For example: FontFix = courbd.ttf FontFixSize = 16 FontOsd = arialbd.ttf FontOsdSize = 16 FontSml = verdana.ttf FontSmlSize = 12 By default fonts are as FontOsd arialbd.ttf size 16, FontSml arial.ttf size 12 und FontFix courbd.ttf size 15 These files at least for the first start should lay in config directories. For each channel in channels.conf it is possible to establish the character coding, the field is added in the end every line. For example: Das Erste;ARD:198500000:I0C34D12M16B7T8G4Y0:T:27500:101:102=deu:104:0:1:8468:9985:0:ISO8859-15 By default is ISO8859-15. Possible variants are listed in: iconv --list EPG data at reception are converted in UTF-8. So on a disk all (again created) files and descriptions will be already in UTF-8. I recommend to remove a file epg.data that data were already normally filled in UTF8. You should also convert names of channels in channels.conf in UTF-8. Pleasant viewings!!! encoding streams

Hi. I want to set VDR to encode edited streams into .avi or .mpeg. Can someone recommend an encoding type and method? I have used mplayer's mencode, but never found a good setting for video and audio streams which plays well under WMP. For good file size and quality (for about 700MB per hour) what should I use? mp3 audio? or just pcm? divx? Thanks Simon
