TV OUT

Hi, I know this is a long shot - and it might not strictly be related to this list (well it is and it isn't really) but I am curious if anyone out there is using a radeon X800 video card and has managed to get TV out working with it? The whole Linux TV, PVR/VDR thing isn't much use to me without TV out. Unfortunately regardless of what drivers I have used, whethere they are propriatory ATI fglrx, or open source ATI, vesa or whatever, I can't seem to get TV out working. Any hints or tips anyone can offer (particularly if anybody has one of these cards) would be very much appreciated. Best regards, GJ

VDR 1.2 versus 1.3 - DVB multi-channel recording

Hi. I have a colleague running an old 1.2 version of VDR, with a Nova-T card, who says he can record multiple channels off the same mux at the same time. When I try this with 1.3.23 it can only record one. We're both using WinTV Nova-T budget cards, although his is the older 'phillips'? chipset and mine is the newer conexant. Any comments on this? Is it a VDR version difference??

skincurses column layout

Is there any way I can control skincurses column formats? The 'now' and 'next' columns are not readable. They work fine under xine, but under skincurses they look like this : What's on now? Nova-T remote keys not working??

Hi group. I have a Hauppauge WinTV NovaT card with the wired IR recevier and remote control. I can only get some of the remote keys to work, specifically the number keys. when I've modprobed cx88-dvb, I "tail -f /dev/input/event0" and hit some keys - I only get a response on the number keys. Similarly if I run VDR with the -P'remote -i /dev/input/event0' plugin it can only recognise number keys, not anything else. Am I doing something wrong? Can anyone shed any light on this? Feature Request: Improved cutting

Hello, In the daily use of my vdr system there is just one point which is not really satisfying: When I decide to cut my recordings (when more than about 10 are waiting to be edited) I always have to wait to start the recording after setting the marks, because the last cut is not yet finished. It would be nice to have something like a "cutting queue", so that when "2" is pressed after editing the recording will be added to that queue, no matter if cutting is already running. -- Helmut Auer, helmut(a)helmutauer.de

Hi All! Sorry my English. Probably all have already faced a problem of Russian names and letters in vdr. For example it is impossible to use simultaneously both Russian and German letters in names of files (for example in MPlayer plugin). I recently have put myself vdr and it at once was not pleasant to me. So I a disgrace have changed all this. As fonts all of the different sizes and styles was necessary at the same time and freetype2 library to vdr to fasten. This is only with ttf fonts tested . Later the others I shall complete. Patch it is made for the version 1.3.23 In setup.conf added some parameters for definition of fonts. For example: FontFix = courbd.ttf FontFixSize = 16 FontOsd = arialbd.ttf FontOsdSize = 16 FontSml = verdana.ttf FontSmlSize = 12 By default fonts are as FontOsd arialbd.ttf size 16, FontSml arial.ttf size 12 und FontFix courbd.ttf size 15 These files at least for the first start should lay in config directories. For each channel in channels.conf it is possible to establish the character coding, the field is added in the end every line. For example: Das Erste;ARD:198500000:I0C34D12M16B7T8G4Y0:T:27500:101:102=deu:104:0:1:8468:9985:0:ISO8859-15 By default is ISO8859-15. Possible variants are listed in: iconv --list EPG data at reception are converted in UTF-8. So on a disk all (again created) files and descriptions will be already in UTF-8. I recommend to remove a file epg.data that data were already normally filled in UTF8 Pleasant viewings!!! -- Alexander Riedel
