convert 16:9 letterboxed / anamorphous to DVD ?

Hi, I am trying to find out how to convert 16:9 broadcasts to DVD with anamorphous encoding. If I get the page http://www.dvd-tipps-tricks.de/index.php?url=3Dhttp%3A//www.dvd-tipps-trick… right, 16:9 broadcasts should be in the 16:9 letterboxed format (in any case softdevice displays them properly in 1280x720p). Or is it anamorphous? In any case, how do I make an anamorphous encoded DVD from such recordings, with the Wide Screen Signaling bits properly set? I can't find any corresponding … [View More]

UPC vienna - several dropouts

hi, last weekend I tried to get a vdr box running with "UPC telekabel wien" I used a box with a technotrend dvb-c v2.1 firmware 2622 and a 2.6.13 kernel UPC is using qam256 for modulation I received almost 170 channels, but the replaying of the channels produced several dropouts I assume the signal was OK because the UPC motorola box had no problem to replay the channels my frined in vienna also tried to amplify the signal, but that didn't help any ideas? thanks marco

VPS timer and missing running state

Hi, a recording last night failed and I ask, if someone can explain the reason. The timer was for german channel ZDF with VPS info, but apparently a running state was not broadcasted. The timer started on scheduled time, but stopped after 4 seconds. It seems VDR detected that no running state is availabe, but stopped the recording immediately. I know that VPS is not reliable, but when VDR can start the timer on right time without running state it should be able to stop it after … [View More]scheduled time. Hallo I found an interesting website about the Reelbox 'MediaCenter'. It uses VDR. Since a harddisc is an 'extra' the OS and VDR must be on an intergrated flash storage or something similar. Some time ago there were some negative postings about that company here. Does anyone know details about that box? Softdevice xv and nvidia

I am trying to use softdevice with vdr. When I use xv output the picture is something like colorless. I think i have a problem with colorspace. when I use the xine plugin everything works well with xv out. I also couldn't get working softdevice DFB out. Any made it working with Nvidia FX5200? Hallo, in order to enable every key on my new remote control I wrote a little plugin which provides a second channel list. It includes all channels with VPID = 0 (usually radio channels).
