[ANNOUNCE] VDR developer version 1.3.49

VDR developer version 1.3.49 is now available at ftp://ftp.cadsoft.de/vdr/Developer/vdr-1.3.49.tar.bz2 A 'diff' against the previous version is available at ftp://ftp.cadsoft.de/vdr/Developer/vdr-1.3.48-49.diff Well, it's an unusual time for a new developer version of VDR, but since there have been a few last minute fixes, and I really want to make version 1.4.0 happen this sunday, I'm releasing this hopefully last release candidate today. Please take a thorough look at the changes - especially the ones to the actual program code files - to help avoid any stupid last minute bugs. If there are no more serious bugs, this will become the final version 1.4.0 this sunday :-) The changes since version 1.3.48: - Fixed initializing 'noapiv' in the Makefile (reported by Ronny Kornexl). - Fixed extracting APIVERSION to work with older versions of 'sed' (reported by Oliver Endriss; thanks also to Udo Richter for a shorter version of the 'sed' expression). - Fixed broken APIVERSION extraction line in 'newplugin' (thanks to Oliver Endriss). - Fixed entering '0' in a cMenuEditIntItem (reported by Mirko Dölle). - Updated the Italian OSD texts (thanks to Nino Gerbino). - Added a note about adding 'INCLUDES += -I$(DVBDIR)/include' to an existing Make.config (problem reported by Markus Ehrnsperger). - Fixed handling the cPluginManager::Active() result when pressing the "Power" key (reported by Werner Färber). - Added a hint about commenting out the line '#define USE_FADVISE' in tools.c in case of problems with replaying in fast forward mode if the video directory is mounted via a Samba share (reported by Andy Grobb). - Changed the "Really restart?" prompt in the call to cPluginManager::Active() in menu.c to "restart anyway?" (suggested by Rolf Ahrenberg). - Removed the obsolete "'1' for encrypted radio channels" part from the description of the VPID in vdr.5 (reported by Alexander Hans). - Fixed tuning to the channel of a VPS timer if the device is the actual device. hardcoded NTSC/PAL values in VDR?

There seem to be a few hardcoded values for PAL in VDR's source code. Klaus, can you tell me if any of these would make a difference to a NTSC only system? I know that most tv's in Europe can do both NTSC and PAL. Unfortunately, almost all the tv's in America only support NTSC and cant handle the PAL formats. BR.

[PATCH] Priority of transfer-mode should not be -1

Hi! The transfer-mode uses always priority -1. That presents a problem: If I connect to that vdr using streamdev, it switches the first budget device off from the multiplex transfered to the FF card, although there is a second identical budget device available. Also, if I had DVB-S FF and only one DVB-T budget and had a DVB-T recording with priority 10 and Primary Limit at 20, live DVB-T video would (wouldn't it?) be severed. Klaus, shouldn't transfer-mode be also using the Primary Limit value, so that recordings with priority less than Primary Limit couldn't distract the output of primary device? VDR constantly tries to change transponder frequency

Hi! VDR constantly changes the frequency of one multiplex in DVB-T. Here's an example: Correct: Urheilukanava;Suomen Urheilutelevisio Oy:770000000:C23D23M64B8T8G8Y0:T:27500:417+130:673=fin:929:0:113:8438:12289:0 But then VDR decides to change it: Dec 29 18:32:48 delta vdr[18069]: changing transponder data of channel 22 from T:770000000:0:3:0:2:2:2:1 to T:674000000:0:3:0:2:2:2:1 And then of course the channels stop being watchable. I took a dvbsnoop on PID 16 to grab the NIT tables (or whatever they're called). The two SECT-packets which are looped in the PID 16 are both in: http://anssi.hopto.org/dvbsnoop-MUX3-pid16 BTW, I put a debug output entry in nit.c line 173 to grab the frequency returned by getFrequency(), and I get these kind of results: FREQUENCY, 562000000 FREQUENCY, 658000000 FREQUENCY, 674000000 However the correct frequencies of the muxes are 490000, 578000, and 770000. However I've no idea why mux3 is the only one of which frequency VDR tries to change. -- Anssi Hannula

MP3/MPlayer pre-release

Hi, as many may have noticed, development of the MP3/MPlayer plugin is somewhat stuck. This is partly due to lack of time, but also due to missing motivation. However, some changes already have been done. I don't want to hold them back any longer but most of them are only roughly tested, so that I don't want to make a full release. I decided to put a pre-release on my homepage at <http://www.muempf.de/down/vdr-mp3-0.9.15pre4.tar.gz> Please refer to the HISTORY file for changes. NOTE: this is a BETA release! Please make sure you have backup copies of all your configuration files, and verify carefully that your timers will be set to the correct channels after switching to this new version. Hi, there is a new version of the pvrinput plugin available: http://home.arcor.de/andreas.regel/files/pvrinput/vdr-pvrinput-0.1.1.tgz Changes since 0.1.0: - adapted to vdr 1.4.0. Older versions should still work. - fixed detection of PVR card to work with ivtv version 0.4.1 or later with kernel 2.4. As I recently switched to satellite reception I don't need the PVR card any longer. So don't expect any further development or new releases from me in the future. If anyone wants to continue development, just do it. Andreas
