astra und hotbird ueber diseqc schalter?

Hi, ich habe mir heute einen zweiten LNB auf die Schuessel gebaut um Hotbird empfangen zu koennen. Jetzt weiss ich nur noch nicht wie ich beide LNB am geschicktesten mit meinem VDR verbinde (Beide LNB jeweils Quad). Ich habe 2 DVB Karten. Die professionelle Variante waere wohl einen Multiswitch einzubauen. Dagegen spricht der Preis und dass er extra Strom benoetigt. Gentoo, vdr and extra plugins

Hi! Have anybody knowledge how I can bring/use vdr-pluging what don't exists at gentoo.. At other worlds, how I can install transfron (what uses transcode) vdr pluging because it don't exists at gentoo repository. OR, is there easy way to convert VDR recordings to DivX (XDiV?), mpeg-4... And am I gonna loose subtitles during that process... -- JJussi

Hello. I build IPTV stream server, based on Linux with DVB cards and dvbstream program. Linux takes DVB stream form SAT, divides it to set of single-program streams and sends it to network using multicasts. These streams are received by IPTV SetTopBoxes. It works. Now with FTA only. blacklisting channels for certain dvb cards?

Dear all, I would want to blacklist a certain channel (transponder), such that it vdr does not try to use a certain dvb-card on that one, e.g. I am having reception problems (no channel lock) on one dvb-t card for ZDF & co. although it works perfectly on the other dvb card. I would therefore just not allow vdr to use the `bad card' for ZDF ... Is this possible? vdr-xine and SP8000E fast enough?

I'm building up a fanless VDR client, and am looking at the VIA EPIA SP8000E with tv-out. Is this 800Mhz processor with MPEG2/4 accelerator fast enough for the vdr-xine plugin? What kind of CPU % can I expect? With my Shuttle AMD 2.2G and unichrome accelerator, and vdr-xine, the cpu sits comfortably about 21%. Thanks Simon

Hello, I'd like to hear about your experiences with VDR in Welho cable network in Helsinki and especially viewing the available HD channels. With my setup (described below), during Welho's marketing campaign when the channels are temporarily FTA, I've been able to view Discovery HD just fine. But I don't get picture with Voom and Silver HD, even though sound can be heard. Maybe video on these channels is H.264 encoded? If so, perhaps VDR with H.264 patches would be able to show the channels...… [View More]

Hi, here's the next release of epgsearch: 2007-09-02: Version 0.9.23 new: - full support for new i18n system in vdr>=1.5.7, but keeps fully backwards compatible - when using extended EPG categories one can now also compare by value, e.g. to search for events after some year. Therefore new searchmodes (10 which means '<', 11 which means '<=', ...) were introduced in the file epgsearchcats.conf. Example: # 'until year' 3|Year|until year||11 # 'from year' … [View More] 12|Year|from year||13 One could use this also to search for a specific season of a series, if this data is part of the EPG. See the section <epgsearchcats.conf> in the documentation for a complete list of all search modes. - The edit menu for search timers has now a switch 'Ignore missing categories' for extended EPG categories. If set to 'Yes' this tells epgsearch that a missing EPG category should not exclude an event from the results. Caution: Using this without any other criterions could flood your timers. - Search timers have now an 'auto delete' feature. The edit menu therefor provides: * after x recordings, or * after x days after first recording Only complete recordings are counted. The deletion of the search timer is executed directly after the end of the corresponding recording - new action "Create a copy" in menu Search/Actions to create and edit a copy of the current search, suggested by Michael Brückner. - the option "use as search timer" has now a third value 'user defined' besides 'yes' and 'no', that allows specifying a time margin where the search timer is active, suggested by jo01@vdrportal - the progressbar now displays the start time instead of an empty bar, when shifting to future events, thanks to zulu@vdrportal for providing a patch. - menu "show timers created" shows now summary for the timers done with 'Ok'. Hello, I found this in my syslog: Sep 11 13:07:22 vdrbox vdr: [4834] read incomplete section - len = 728, r = 15 My card is an dvb-s 2300 and vdrversion is 1.4.7. A recording from "Das Erste" was in progress while I got this message. Thanks Halim
