vdr-rotor support patches for VDR-1.5.14

Hy I say that i will be tester, so rotor patcheches aply fine and compile only in this order. 1. Rotor patch vdr-1.5.14-h264-other-rotor.diff to vdr-rotor-0.1.4-vdr-1.5 2. Rotor patch vdr-1.5.14-h264-other-rotor.diff to vdr. and compile ok but I could not testit because i meseed up my xine-lib tryng with core-avc that for me image is worst diferent then ffmpeg. xine problems with vdr

hi, I tried to upgrade to xine-lib 1.2 from mercurial. need CAM on every DVB device?

Hi Simple question, do you need a separate CAM for every DVB device you add? I'm receiving a cable service from a single provider and want to decode up to 2 boquets at once. Do both DVB cards need to have their own CI/CAM? Thanks Simon

Hi Klaus, is there a chance to have this patch http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.linux.vdr/32212 in 1.6.0? Several plugins already support this patch and most VDR distributions have this too, imho. Would be great to have it in core VDR. BR, Christian

1.6 now I want to add that about every 12 months I rebuild my vdr pc.... and everytime I spend days trying to have it working ! Plugins, patches, patches of patches, combo-patches that install all the patches needed by plugins but not the plugins.... would it be possible to have something like a cpan/pear repository where you can download all the needed stuff ? I'd likt that Klaus strongly asks all plugins/patches developers to setup their web sites to have a specific "1.6" page for their work and ANOTHER web page for 1.7 development ! And clear informations about version compatibility. Also Klaus should update his plugin page..... Francesco

Straw poll: stable version 1.6.0 now?

There has been some controversy about my recent decision to move forward and require the "multiproto" driver for VDR in the developer version. It is also currently rather unclear whether the current PES recording format can be kept to handle HDTV, or whether it would make sense (or even be feasible) to switch to TS (as suggested by the people from RMM). In order to take the edge of this, I was wondering if it would make sense to revoke the switch to the "multiproto" driver and go straight towards a stable version 1.6.0 with what is now in version 1.5.14. This should satisfy all those who are eagerly awaiting a new stable version, without forcing them to make the driver switch now. If we decide to go that way, I would release a version 1.5.15 with what could become the new stable, wait until like the end of the month to see whether it still needs some minor fixes, and call it 1.6.0 then. I know there are still some patches out there that some would expect to go into the next stable version, but I actually want to prepare VDR for HDTV before looking into these patches. So, here's the straw poll: Should there be a stable version 1.6.0 now, based on what's in version 1.5.14, but without DVB-S2 or even H.264 support? Yes or No? Klaus

VDR SC - Problem with Irdeto 1 provider id

Hi, I am trying to use SC version 8.7 to decrypt an Irdeto 1 stream using a valid set of card credentials. I have placed these credentials in my IRD-BETA.KID file using the format specified in the examples. Specifically for the provider ID field I have used the value "10". However, SC does not see the keys for these credentials, although they are clearly being provided as can be seen in an EMM log, and ProgDVB / Fenrir are able to use this IRD-BETA.KID file to successfully provide plain keys in windows. After some playing around I discovered that I could get SC to recognise the keys if I set the provider ID field to "01". The ca.cache file is updated accordingly with the plain keys in the cache also having the value "01" for the provider ID, but SC does not attempt to use them. Manually changing the provider ID back to "10" in the cache file gives me pictures while the plain keys remain current. After some more playing I finally got things to work by patching cPlainKeys::NewKey in data.c to multiply the provided Id by 16 immediately on entry, but this is now using a non-standard IRD-BETA.KID file. I believe that the problem may reside in cProviderIrdeto::MatchEMM which is returning false unless I use the modified .KID file. However, I am not sure how this code in parse.c is supposed to work. While I now have pictures it would be nice not to have to use a non-standard IRD-BETA.KID and a home grown patch. Any one have any ideas? Thanks, Mark Hawes. Howto vdr-xine installation

Hello, I used to use the "opensuse dvb-s2" wiki page to follow the instructions about the installation of xine-lib 1.2 and vdr-xine. When I am looking for that page, I get an empty page now. Can anyone point me out a location where to find the download commands (cvs or hg ?) and the several compile instructions and options. Many thanks, serge
