Thousands of M in xine-vdr console

I have a question/problem, maybe someone can explain it. I'm using vdr with xine plugin and run it in console. Sometimes in console appears many-many "M" characters and it stops only after disconnect xine player (Shift-S). After new connect (Enter) all works again. What is it and how to eliminate this "behavior"? AK

Scan found no PIDs (NIT and TID)

Hello, When I'm using the scan with option -o vdr I have the problem with some channels into channels.conf. How to convert a JPEG image to an I-frame?

I'm looking for a method to convert a JPEG image to an MPEG-2 I-frame that can be displayed through VDR's cDevice::StillPicture() function. The conversion should be done by a (sequence of) shell command(s). Can anybody advise how this can be done? Klaus

Hi! Simple but hard question... I have gentoo based system.. And I would like to use vdr-plugin (sc; software CAM) what is NOT in repository. How I can compile and use it? Or is it possible. -- JJussi

Upgrading from 1.4.7 to 1.7.0 : info: Channel not available!

Sorry for missexplaning. First case is CAM results detection in 1.7.0 only. Second case means the CAM is 100% correctly detected under 1.4.7 and randomly and correctly detected under 1.7.0 (a correct detection maybe each 15/20 times after a vdr-1.7.0 restart) I've made changes in ci.c (initial 500ms, second 1000 ms, third 2000 ms) then restart after a make clean and recompilation. Hi Klaus and thanks for getting back to me. I tried my orginal (ver 1.4.7) channels.conf under the new installation using this syntax : TF1;CSAT:11895:vC34:S19.2E:27500:171:124=fra,125=eng:53:500,100:8371:1:1074: 0 As it was not working i've generated a new channels.conf : TF1;CSAT:11895:vO0S0:S19.2E:27500:171:124=fra,125=eng:53:0:8371:1:1074:0 I also tried to manually edit the channel info under the OSD and put the FTA value as described in the changelog. Then change to another channel and came back to the modified one. No result at all. Hi, I've been using VDR for a while now uder an "old" 1.4.7 vdr version with a DVB-S Nexus with CI and my official subscription card. I wanted to upgrade to the lastest version of VDR and compiled it all OK. But, the problem is that the new version can't switch to encrypted channels. Is there something particular to done to enable encrypted channels ? Particular syntax for the channels.conf file ? I could not find that in the docs. Thanks for helping. Regards Pierre

A VDR compatible dvb-s card with CI interface recommendation?

Hi, I Want to buy a new DVB card to watch TV channels with VDR. The important point is I want it to have CI interface, So I could use CAM to view encrypted channels. I knew cards such as NEXUS, but they discontinued long time ago. I also know Technisat SkyStar HD 2, but as I know it is not compatible with VDR. So, Does anybody has recommendation for a card with this conditions? 1: good compatibility with VDR, Linux and good stability. 2: Has CI interface, and CI is supported under Linux and VDR. 3: Be in production. [patch] channels with same pids+channels update

Hi If it's interecting for anybody. This is next version of a patch for non unique channels pids. (for stupid providers :) ). Rid not used now, SID/NID/TID+Transponder only. I tested this patch on 80E Express AM2 KU band. And you can switch off "delete duplicate channels" in dvb settings menu, if you want. ( if you set "delete duplicate channels" to ON, vdr can works with incorrect pids too). And other feature, this is deleting absent channels. If provider was deleted channels, you need delete it from channels.conf manually. After this patch, vdr auto deleting channels, which not present on transponder in sdt. Need select "delete absent channels" in dvb settings menu, but if you selected channels update or transponder update. Attached patch: for native vrd-1.6.0, for vdr+iptv plugin, for vdr +h264(without dvb-s2), for vdr+h264+iptv. -- ua0lnj Pridvorov Andrey
