[OT] ARM based devices for VDR server and client

Dear list, I searched the Web but could not find a lot of reviews or tests about ARM based VDR systems. The goal is to have a VDR device which consumes the „least possible“ amount of power. I heard that ARM based devices are good for this. Does anyone on this list have any experiences using ARM based devices? 1. Problem of Text2skin & 1080-background from png, gif ect..

In this the case the cursor inside <list is moving very slow even if the picture drawn by one color. If the background is drawn by software (rectangle etc..), then all OK. The combination of image + software drawn does not increase the speed. Seems, this is a problem of overlay layer from image, which for some reason too many loads CPU.

m2ts(h.264) vdr cann't play!

I have a VOD film, they told me that is m2ts(h.264). but the vdr1.60 and vdr1.79 cannt show it. anyone can tell me, how I can test it or config the vdr?

Hi, I have owned a Mediagate MG800HD media player for some 9 months now and have been working with Mediagate to get it to successfully play a stream from the VDR streamdev plugin. Finally I can now announce that with firmware v01.19.3 released on the 30th of October the MG800HD can play both streamdev and xineliboutput live streams. Tor, No - no VDR OSD support, so perhaps not that viable for those that want the VDR OSD. However, the MG800 has its own OSD which is user configurable so for example you can configure a menu entry to call Streamdev requesting a particular channel and streamdev obliges, which will also then move a dish if required.
