[ANNOUNCE] xxv-1.5 - testing release

The xxv project team announce this feature release. xxv-1.5 is a release candidate of our next major release for XXV the "Xtreme eXtension for VDR", it's containing a large number of bug fixes and enhancements and more. XXV means "Xtreme eXtension for VDR" and is a central service for the administration of the VDR and his environment. Here a small overview of present functions: * Full remote access to VDR-1.6.x and VDR-1.7.x environment. * EPG data are regularly parsed and registered * Create Timer from EPG data * Full automated timer creation from EPG data by wished topics * Recording control and manage * ... US OTA ATSC - Does it work?

Hello, I have been banging my head on trying to get my two ATSC cards to show content in VDR. I have applied the patch (http://www.fepg.org/patches/vdr-1.7.2-atsc-0.0.3.diff) and also the plugin found here: http://www.fepg.org/atscepgReadMe.html However, the plugin does not lock onto any channels. I am able to use 'scan' and 'w_scan'. However, these scan tools does not seem to produce the correct channels.conf file format. If anyone has made US OTA ATSC work, please provide some guidance. Thank you.

Recently I update the system and the new kernel had wakealarm enabled... and it was working ok till yesterday... I don't remember actual kernel level.. I'm downloading opensuse 11.1... did you install kernel packages ONLY or a full update from 11.0 to 11.1 ? In the box I have a skystar 2, a hvr-3000 (dvb-s and dvb-t, not currently working due to driver problems) and a dvb-t usb-stick, whose drivers were also to compile ... upgrading the kernel means I have to recompile the drivers too.... wakealarm stopped working on 21 dec 2009.. ?!?!

I noticed that my vdr server was running when it shouldn't, so I reached the console and forced a "power off"... the server shutdown but then powerup immediately. This happened several times until I discovered that my OpenSuse 11.0 was not accemptin wakeup timers from 22 december... echo $1 > /..../wakealarm accepts value for $1 up to 21 december and refuses to accept values bigger than that (in seconds, of course). I looked for infos on google but found nothing.... I can't say if it's a motherboard problem or linux problem... anyone has a clue ? Thanks, Francesco

Does VDR-1.7.10 support a h264 Datastream from DVB-C card?

Dear list-members, I'm uncertain about the HDTV-capability of vdr-1.7.9 (or 10). In September, I had a sytem running, that could display the "Leichtathletik Weltmeisterschaft" from Berlin, broadcasted by ARD/ZDF in p720. I was able to receive this via KabelDeutschland (KD) with the channels.conf entry ZDF HD;ZDFvision:618000:M256:C:6900:6110:6120=deu;6122=deu:6130:0:11110:1:1011:0 That system consisted of vdr-1.7.0 and the xineliboutput plugin, patched with vdr-1.7.0-h264-syncearly-framespersec-audioindexer-fielddetection-speedup.diff Today (with vdr-1.7.10 and xineliboutput from cvs) I have TV from KD, but no HD p720/i1080 My question is: Do I have a software problem (e.g., a missing patch) or is there simply no signal on 618MHz (I think, there is supposed to be one between Christmas and New Years Eve). Hi, How can I determine that from a vdr-1.7.10 recording? Unfortunately vdrsync doesn't work any more :-(. Regards Halim

Hi, Thanks for the tip. This seems to do the trick. Channel lock is no more lost after the first 60 secs of inactivity after bootup. vdpau setup steps for vdr client

I just bought a zotac ion motherboard and plan to harness it in the weekend as a ultimate super master dream vdr client for my 19" monitor :-) Sofar I have used to run vdr-xineliboutput in my clients and would like to do that also with this machine if possible. Currently my server runs vdr 1.6 but I plan to update that also to 1.7.10. Is there anything special steps/tweaking I need to do to get the client work nicely vdpau? - could things work with some of the distros almost out of the box already or do I need to - download & build vdpay by myself - patch and build xinelib by myself - patch/build vdpau - etc... If somebody has some kind of step of step guide for the fastest and easiest steps for getting this done with disto, you could save my weekend :-) (New client so any distro will go... ) Have anybody done this btw in a diskless way where OS is booted from the server?
