Hi there, since vdr-1.7.3, VDR is compiled with the additional arguments -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -D_LARGEFILE_SOURCE -D_LARGEFILE64_SOURCE Plugins should be compiled with the same arguments as otherwise one might get unresolved symbols when loading the plugin. Consistently, in vdr-1.7.4 these defines have been added to the plugin part of Make.config.template. lirc-0.8.6 moved socket to /var/run/lirc/lircd

Hi list! lirc starting from version 0.8.6, does use the socket /var/run/lirc/lircd instead of /dev/lircd, so all apps not using liblirc_client need to be changed. Else IR will not work in VDR. There are two possibilities: 1. Shell code to check which of the two sockets do exist and adding relevant command-line-parameter to vdr (--lirc=/var/run/lirc/lircd). 2. Patching VDR to check both pathes and using the existing one. Regards Matthias

Editing recordings and no instant video update when moving markers

Hello, When editing recordings I am struggling to fine tune marker placement as adjustments made with '4' and '6' keys while moving the marker as indicated by the time line do not update the video display with the corresponding position in the recording. vdr 1.7.8 shows wrong recording length

I have a TS recording of more than two hours which seems to have no errors (Project X demux log looks fine). When I start playing it with vdr, the replay osd shows a recording lenghth of only 9 minutes. The same values is displayed in the recording menu (yes I know, this is not a vdr feature but comes from a patch) Is it worth to investigate it? I still have this recording on my disc. Replay Problems with Extension HD

Hello, Users of the Reel Extension HD card will know that there are Problems when TS recordings are replayed. These Problems seem to be limited to some stations like Pro7 and even with these stations to movies that are broadcastest with DD 5.1 audio. Now my question: What is different between Live TV and Replay. Of course the obvious difference is the data source (file opposed to DVB device). But what else is different? Users of full featured DVB cards also need to use a new firmware, available at http://www.escape-edv.de/endriss/firmware The changes since version 1.7.7: - The name of the function cDevice::GetVideoSize() wasn't very well chosen for its purpose of defining the optimum size of the OSD for the current output device. Therefore a new function named cDevice::GetOsdSize() has been introduced (suggested by Rolf Ahrenberg). Plugin authors should implement this function in classes derived from cDevice, if they are able to replay video. cDevice::GetVideoSize() still exists and should return the actual size of the video material that is currently replayed. Note that because of the many possible aspect ratios for video material, the type of the Aspect parameter of GetVideoSize() has been changed to 'double', and the Aspect parameter in both functions is named differently, because it returns different values (suggested by Reinhard Nissl). I'm trying to find out why vdr-sxfe freezes for a split second once or twice every minute. Problem with end time set, ether epgsearch or vdradmin

In VDR margin at start is set to 1 and stop is set to 4 In EPGSearch under Search and search timers it is set to start 2 and stop 5 VDRAdmin is set to 1 and 2 Yet every timer that is auto set is 2 and 10. I don't have end set to plus 10 any place yet that is what it keeps doing so that I have to go in and change every auto timer by hand. And with HD recordings eating so much disk space it's ading up.
