epgsearch umlauts

Hi, This is my setup vdr 1.7.15 epgsearch 0.9.25.beta16 locale en_US.UTF-8 Recording done by setting the timer myself result in valid folder names. Means the german umlauts are visible in the filesystem. However when recordings are done by an epgsearch timer the umlauts are broken. This is what ls shows on my box drwxr-xr-x 3 vdr vdr 4096 6. vdr 1.7.15 & eHD & French HD DTV

Hi, i have an eHD card that is running fine with vdr 1.7.15 except i don't have sound on the HD french channels (TF1HD, France2HD & M6HD) which use the e-AC3 format. hello i use your patch xineliboutputeac3_4.diff with vdr-1.7.15 and latest xine-lib-1.2 and xineliboutput . That's work very better than my previous test. But there is a probleme with 5.0 audio (only music and no voice). I think that's why i have ramdom crash at vdr-sxfe startup or zapping on eac3 hd channel. pist fra (the first) is sometime in 2.0 sometime in 5.0 so i still have to downmix eac3 to stereo whith your ff_audio_decoder.patch from xine-user mailing list. The Freecom USB receiver will now do at least 2 channels simultaneously, sometimes 3. When idle, 6 PID's are now in use normally instead of 8 (I wasn't setting system time - using NTP). Are you aware of anywhere the PID capacity of receivers is published - it's not in http://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/DVB-T_USB_Devices for example? - it would be good to publish, so buyers can select better hardware cheers Richard

Feature request: program guide scroll

Hello list, At the moment if I press the Guide button (or select a specific program from EPG list) i can see the detailed description of the event. Now pressing up/down or left/right scrolls the "Long Description", if this doesn't fit in the OSD window. I wonder if it's possible to implement a different behaviour for the left/right keys: to "scroll" between programs. Pressing right should bring up the next event, pressing left should bring up the previous event. To scroll in the OSD window Up and Down are fine. thanks, Füley István

Plugin channelscan-0.6.1+vdr-1.7.15 can't LOCK dvb-s2 tp.

I added the changes "Atypes" and "Dtypes" from the new file pat.c (vdr-1.7.15) to the file filter.c (channelscan-0.6.1 patched and worked on vdr-1.7.14). But now channelcsan-0.6.1 can't scan all dvb-s2 transponders. Perhaps the fact that in vdr-1.7.15 changed the modulation (channels.c). Can anyone suggest what else needs to be fixed except filter.c?

Live TV problem with 1.7.15

(I'll start a new thread as my problem may not be the same as the one posted earlier). VDR 1.7.15 will not record or show live TV from my DVB-T card - 1.7.14 was fine. On startup I see this message in the log: Jun 8 16:24:14 vdr: [18819] frontend 0/0 provides DVB-T with unknown modulations ("DST DVB-T") The problem seems to be in the new code in dvbdevice.c. My card returns frontendInfo.caps = 0xb0201, ie the FE_CAN_QAM_AUTO bit is set but not any of the individual QAM bits. Hence the logic in cDvbDevice::ProvidesTransponder() incorrectly decides that the card cannot receive any channel. The simple patch (attached) fixes the problem but I'm not sure that it doesn't break something else. Dave
