Hy Klaus, Is ther a problem with vdr-1.7.0-h264-syncearly-framespersec-audioindexer-fielddetection-speedup patch fom Reinhard Nilsl ? Could this patch be included in vdr-1.7.2 like S2API patch?

And you don't want to know what I went through to get H264 decoding working on the GPU level in combination with Mediaportal. I tried several codecs, codec packs, bought codecs which should support, etc and still I had problems with H264 broadcasts (and no, I'm not talking MKV's or MP4's here) when watching NGC-HD. I'm not talking days here. I'm talking weeks of struggeling to get it working. And now I've got it finally working, it seems that DISEQC support for my Hauppauge NOVA-HD-S2 is broken. Since August this year to be precise... Which other options do we have on Windows? The only ones I can think of are SageTV (expensive), MCE (expensive and doesn't support H264 broadcasts) and a bunch of other DVB viewing software which are unstable, or expensive, or un-usuable because they lack DISEQC support for my DVB-card or they are not user-friendly (read: limited WAF). Since Januari this year I've tested several DVB software which would allow me to view H264 broadcasts. And up till today, only VDR allows this for me and is stable as hell. I can't remember when I last rebooted my HTPC or restarted VDR. That I needed to buy a eHD to get hardware acceleration, I don't care. For 605 Euro's I now have a HTPC which allows me to view DVB-S, DVB-S2 and DVB-T broadcasts and I can watch everything on the multimedia aspect (using XBMC). > It is a linux/system and not vdr problem, which does the recording > really nice and good! > And to be honost, there aren't other options which are just as good or stable as VDR. Falsche PTS im PES-Stream beim Spulen in Videoaufnahmen

Hallo zusammen Das ist mein erstes Mail an diese Liste. Ich habe meine Frage vor ein paar Tagen ins vdr-portal gestellt, aber leider keine Antwort erhalten (http://www.vdr-portal.de/board/thread.php?threadid=82350) Wahrscheinlich wurde sie von den richtigen Leuten, die das auch beantworten könnten, nicht gesehen. Darum probiere ich mein Glück jetzt mal hier: Ich habe das Plugin für den VLC-Player als Streaming-Client vom ffnetdef-Plugin geschrieben. Leider hat der VLC-Player ein Problem mit dem Stream von VDR- Aufnahmen, sobald man anfängt zu spulen. Im Log steht dann, dass der Stream falsche PTS (Presentation Time Stamps) hat. Ich habe in den Sourcecode von VDR und vom ffnetdev-Plugin reingeschaut, und wenn ich alles richtig verstanden habe, werden die PTS unverändert aus der Aufnahme an das ffnetdev-Plugin übergeben und dort unverändert ins Netz gestreamt. Sobald man nun anfängt zu spulen, stimmen die PTS dann nicht mehr, weil sie beim Vorwärtsspulen viel zu schnell ansteigen und beim Rückwärtsspulen sogar rückwärts laufen. Beim Abspielen von Videoaufnahmen müssten die PTS eigentlich schön fortlaufend kommen, egal, ob normal wiedergegeben oder gespult wird. Da das ffnetdev-Plugin dem Stream nicht ansieht, ob es Live-TV oder eine Aufnahme ist, müsste das Patchen der PTS eigentlich der VDR machen. Was meint Ihr dazu? This plugin only downloads videos. A separate plugin, such as xineliboutput or mplayer plugin, is required to play them. [OT] Connecting a TSOP 1838 IR receiver to a SIR (IrDA) motherboard connector (ML6000)

Hi, I can't find anything useful on Google, except for this (I can't understand) : http://forum.moddingplanet.it/archive/index.php?t-23650-p-2.html (search for IRRX of IRTX, at the bottom of the page). Basically, the question is : can I connect a standard customer IR receiver chip (like a TSOP 1838, as LIRC documents http://www.lirc.org/receivers.html) to a SIR connector on the motherboard ? The Via EPIA ML motherboard SIR connector have : * +5v * key * IRRX * GND * IRTX The IR receiver chips have : * +5v * GND * output Is it possible to connect the output of the chip directly to the IRRX pin of the motherboard, configure the BIOS to use this connector, train LIRC using standard serial driver or SIR driver, and just have it working ? The idea is to avoid voltage regulator, resistor, diode, etc. That's only a few parts, but a single TSOP with direct wiring would be even more simpler. TIA -- NH

It seems to be affecting both. Symptoms are intermittant no lock on channels? Any ideas what this is??

Few more questions about xinelibout

Hi all, Few more questions about xinelibout. I've run the frontend now as a separate task and looks like it doesn't crash now except when I try to open a picture, I'll try to debug it later. The questions are probably very simple: - When I playback a file, how can I move back? When replaying a live stream my "<" and ">" keys act as backward and forward buttons. In file playback forward runs the movie forward indeed, but backward button slows the playback until its fully stopped. - How can I restart the playback? Last position in the movie is stored, which is good, but how can I reset it and start from the beginning? - Does deinterlacing settings from VDR menu apply also to movie playback? Sometimes I can see effects of picture is not sync with the screen, I mean that the picture is shown as its 2 halfs (top and bottom) that are moving in very little difference. Thats mostly seen when the whole picture is moved. I'm sure its something with the settings since playback of the movie in gxine or mplayer gives me good results. Will appreciate any help with that. Thanks.
