j2 rgb output board

I've found the rgb output protection board for use with the J2 jumper on certain FF cards at the VDR portal; http://www.vdr-portal.de/board/thread.php?threadid=5893&sid=ec2e4e55466d756… There's also a thread with an overview of existing boards here; http://www.vdr-portal.de/board/thread.php?threadid=14942 However, google translate has been failing to translate anything German for the last month, so I'm wondering if someone knows if ; - there are premade PCBs available from somewhere? - any other similar protection boards for rgb output can be found ready made from somewhere? - there are any updated or later discussions about RGB output PCBs for use with FF card via the J2 jumper block (preferable in english)? -- Torgeir Veimo torgeir(a)pobox.com

vdr 170 & multifrontend support

Hi can hvr4000 users use multifrontend features of this card completely on vdr 170? I mean - is it possible to listen FM radio, to watch analog TV and dvb-t and dvb-s/s2 with vdr 170 ? Which additional addons or plugins need to install for multifrontend support ? the new repo from Darron Broad with multifrontend support for hvr4000 is here http://hg.kewl.org/ Goga

[PATCH] S2API for vdr-1.7.0 (07-10-2008 - quickhack for DVB-S(2), DVB-T and DVB-C)

Hello All, This patch gives VDR 1.7.0 support for DVB-C (untested), DVB-S (tested), DVB-S2 (tested) and DVB-T (tested) using S2API. The patch itself is still based upon Igor M. Liplianin's S2API patch. Today Steven Toth made some changes to the HG repo of S2API, so it was time for a new patch :) Here's what's new: - Added the new DTV commands for use with DVB-T; - Added DTV_ROLLOFF en ROLLOFF_35 frontend command/data for DVB-S (required to get a lock with DVB-S); - Removed NBC_QPSK modulation-hack since it was not needed anymore; - Removed QAM_AUTO modulation-hack for DVB-C and DVB-T (DVB-T doesn't require it anymore with the new DTV commands); Enclosed are two patches. The clean patch is for a clean VDR 1.7.0 source tree patched with Reinhard's vdr-1.7.0-h264-syncearly-framespersec-audioindexer-fielddetection-speedup.diff.bz2 patch. The diff patch is for those who have used the patch from 05-10-2008. Please only use this patch if you have updated to the latest S2API from http://linuxtv.org/hg/~stoth/s2! Thanks goes out to Igor, Darron Broad and Edgar (gimli) Hucek for the help and suggestions with the previous and current patches. Again, any feedback on this patch is highly appreciated! I successfully ported stb0899 to S2API For know it is just for testing purposes. Feel free to test it. Any feedback welcome. When trying to compile the plugin it stopped on following error: HdTrueColorOsd.c:595: error: 'class cBitmap' has no member named 'SetSizeWithoutRealloc' I have the 'vdr-1.6.0-truecolor-compile_fixes.diff' patch installed but can't see there any mention of 'SetSizeWithoutRealloc'. Nor can I find this anywhere else in vdr code. Is there a new patch for the reelbox plugin that I should install? Is there any site in English where the reelbox is discussed? Regards, Josce

Reports about bugs in H264 are especially important: H264 is an important codec, and it might not be so much tested, since it's newer than most other important codecs. So, reports about wrong decoding (of valid streams), crashes (both in valid and invalid streams) and of misdetection (both in valid and in corrupted streams) are important and very helpful. vdr-xine A/V sync problems

Hi, I'm using vdr 1.6.0 along with vdr-xine 0.8.2, xine-lib 1.1.15 and xine-ui 0.99.5 on gentoo. Recently, I discovered A/V sync problems on my vdr. My family confirms that these problems have been there for a while now. So, unfortunately, I can't pinpoint which one of my changes led to the behaviour described as follows: Mostly, when I switch channels, it takes a while (I would estimate around a second) for the video and the audio to sync. But sometimes, audio and video stay out of sync, then either audio or video or both seem to stop, then, for a short while, they stay synced, again, then either audio or video or both stop, then they get out of sync, and so on... This behaviour can occur for recordings as well. I could neither find anything peculiar in the xine-ui stdout messages nor in vdr's stdout messages or logs that would explain that behaviour. Looking for people with similar problems, I fould Simon Baxter's problem description from 2008-05-04 on this list. He switched from vdr-xine 0.8.2 back to version 0.8.0. That seemed to do the trick for me as well. So far, there is no alternation between A/V going out of and back into sync anymore. Above, I mentioned I had made a few changes: At some point I thought, I might reduce channel switching time by using the syncearly patch. I tried this for a while but wasn't really happy with it as it didn't seem to reduce channel switching time significantly and it took much longer to change audio streams (language of a programme). So, eventually, I recompiled vdr without the syncearly patch. A lot of things seem to have changed after xine-lib 1.1.8 (which is needed for vdr-xine 0.8.0) which I honestly cannot oversee. As xine-lib 1.1.8 won't be supported forever, I wanted to find out what could cause my problems in newer versions. So I wanted to ask on this list, if anyone can pinpoint me to things I could try out in order to fix this issue in newer versions. -- GMX startet ShortView.de.
