Plugin patches for vdr-1.5.3

Hi, Attached is a patch for vdr-1.5.3 and the timeline-1.0.141 plugin. Please let me know if this patch is incorrect. Also, I am currently looking for patches to fix epgsearch-0.9.22, tvonscreen-0.7.0, and liemikuutio.

VDR exited with status 134

Most of the time when VDR shuts the box down using vdrshutdown script there is a line in the log runvdr: VDR exited with status 134, attempting restart I've got fedora with runvdr from fedora vdr package and it tries to restart VDR if exit code is something else than 0, 2 or 137. Sometimes the exit code is 137 but most of the time it is 134. This causes VDR to restart (or runvdr makes VDR to restart) and dvb drivers to reload. What does exit code 134 mean? Why is exit code sometimes 137 and most of the times 134? What should exit code be when VDR is shutting down either because the user pushed power button or because there has been no user activity? I've replaced fedoras VDR with my own vdr-1.4.6 compilation (due to some plugins not in fedora packaging). \\Kartsa

How to use vdr with DVB-T - channels.conf error

Hello everybody, I live in Belgium, and would like to setup vdr with a budget DVB-T USB Freecom Stick. DVB-T is working well on my system with mplayer, xine, Kaffeine. I have generated the required channels.conf for that, using scandvb application. But, with vdr (1.4.7), my channels.conf does not work. I get this error: $ ./runvdr vdr: error while reading '/video/channels.conf' When I use the original channels.conf given with vdr installation, I do not get this error, but it does not correspond to my settings so it is useless. The format of given channels.conf seems to be different from the one generated by scandvb for DVB-T. Here is an excerpt of both files: Original VDR channels.conf RTL Television,RTL;RTL World:12187:hC34:S19.2E :27500:163:104=deu;106=deu:105:0:12003:1:1089:0 My channels.conf LA UNE:754000000:INVERSION_AUTO:BANDWIDTH_8_MHZ:FEC_2_3:FEC_AUTO:QAM_64:TRANSMISSION_MODE_8K:GUARD_INTERVAL_1_32:HIERARCHY_NONE:33:34:1 Could somebody help me on that issue? vdr-1.5.3 - LANG="de_DE@euro" not recognized

Hi everbody, in my system the LANG environment is set to "de_DE@euro". VDR did not recognize this character set. After I changed LANG to "de_DE.iso-8859-15" umlauts are correctly displayed e.g.in the EPG data. But I still get the following error in syslog: "codeset is 'ISO-8859-15' - unknown". What's wrong here? I had a look into vdr.c and found out, that the dot is used delimiter between language and codeset - as "de_DE@euro" does not contain any dot, vdr fails to recognize this. Is "de_DE@euro" an invalid value for this variable? Regards, Joachim.

[ANNOUNCE] pvr350-Plugin -new development snapshot

I just announced it in the vdrportal forum, but it may also be interesting for non-german speaking vdr users. The pvr350-plugin implements an output device for the PVR350 TV out, using the hardware mpeg2 decoder. It was originally written by Dominic Morris, but he stopped development. Based on the last version 0.0.5 from December 2005 (which was only sent to a few people), I adapted the plugin during the last 18 months to ivtv changes. Although I have only very limited knowledge about C++, I also managed to improve some things. Andreas Schäfers helped me a lot; he introduced even ac3-to-mp2 conversion which is important if you use the dvd-plugin. Look into the README for requirements and further details. http://drseltsam.device.name/vdr/pvr/src/pvr350/ There is still much work to do - feel free to contribute patches! For watching analogue TV from the tuner of the PVR350 you need a second plugin as input device. Because the analogtv-plugin is out of date, I highly recommend the latest unofficial pvrinput. Configuring vdr to use multiple drives/partitions for storage

I am trying to find out the best way to add additional storage to VDR 1.4.6-1 over time. Could someone on the list give some advise on how best to config vdr so that I can add additional storage over time as my needs increase? My understanding is that if I add additional storage to my vdr system and then add a new symlink such as /var/lib/video.01 that points to this storage vdr will automatically use it when /var/lib/video.00 becomes full. Is that correct? I have looked for some documentation on how this aspect of vdr should/could be configured but have not found anything that clearly defines how this should be best achieved. Thanks in advance for any input on this :-)

[PATCH] recordsshowfree

Moin, whenever you enter the recordings page via a direct key (e.g. the red key if no menu is open), you need to go back to the main menu page to know the available disk space. So I wrote a patch to show this info on the recordings page too, e.g.: Disk 95%, 4:40 (7,0 GB) free. Thanks for the tip about VDR_OPTIONS. The Fedora package did not create /srv/vdr and I didn't want to use this location anyway as I currently record tv to another location and wanted to stick with that. Excellent software by the way! Chris

VDRAdmin behind Apache2

Hi, I am using VDRAdmin 3.5.3 behind Apache2 over HTTPS. Everything seems to work fine, but when I try to edit a timer, I get an error stating "method not allowed". Has anyone seen this problem? It does not happen if I use VDRAdmin from the localhost on the default port. Also, as of now, when connecting to VDRAdmin through apache2, I can create "one-shot" timers, but not recurring timers. If this was a permission issue, I would think that I would not be able to create any timers at all. Best Regards.

Is the remote control of a WinTV Nova-T PCI able to power on the computer

Hi all, The subject says it all. Since the PCI card has an always-lit LED on it, I wondered if the IR receiver was also powered and could turn on the computer, using the green power button on the remote. Since it's not working for me, are there any BIOS settings to allow that ? TIA, -- NH
