[Patch] radio-plugin: schow current running song in lcdproc

Hi everyone, attached is a patch, that enables the radio plugin to show the current running songtitle and artist on an attached lcd or any other facility that listens to cStatus::OsdProgramme events. Patch works at least for radio-0.0.8c. Joachim.

pvrinput -why does it log stuff about satellite channels?

Hello, softdevice team (Torgeir Veimo, Martin Wache and me, Stefan Lucke) is pleased to announce a new release of vdr softdevice plugin. General info: Softdevice plugin enables vdr to run on your desktop with so called budget cards. You'll get vdr output via framebuffer or X11-Xv or DirectFB or vidix to your screen. Decoding is done via ffmpeg. Special in this release (from README): - AC3 pass through: For using AC3 pass through, you have to specify the IEC958 device name of your sound card. Which device to use, can be checked with ac3play. For my system, ac3play works with: "ac3play -C -D 0,1 AC3_FILE_NAME" So my vdr call with parameter list for softdevice looks like: -P "softdevice -ao alsa:pcm=default#ac3=hw:0,1# -vo dfb:mgatv" Notice the trailing '#' of the last alsa subparameter. AC3 pass through is mainly based on the code of ac3play-0.5.2f, so many thanks to the authors of that program. - configure script By default you should "cd" to softdevice directory and run "./configure" . This will generate config.h and config.mak files, which will guide make. Available parameters of configure are listed by "./configure --help" . To get rid of these generated files a "make dist-clean" should be done. Without running configure, you'll have to modify the Makefile to your needs. Display problem with graphlcd-0.1.2 and MP3-plugin

Hi, I am using graphlcd-0.1.2 with a 64x128 ks0108 display on a Suse 9.3 based VDR system with kernel 2.6.13.2. If I play MP3s with the MP3 plugin, I get a display problem when using a "loop mode": Exactly the left half of the display stays black. The right half is displayed and even updated correctly. What I have found: 1. If the problem has occured in the MP3 plugin, all other VDR displays are disturbed afterwards, not only the MP3 plugin's display. 2. Deactivating and reactivating the graphlcd plugin does not help. 3. Restarting VDR helps. 4. The problem has nothing to do with the loopmode per se, but the number of additional characters displayed in this situation. The offending display line looks like this: Musik : [LS] xx:yy 08:30 ^^^^ loop mode if I modify the graphlcd code and force the loopmode string to a fixed value, the display is correct up to a string length of 2. Musik : 12 xx:yy OK Musik : 123 xx:yy Not OK. 5. This one is interesting: If I display a fullscreen picture with showpic from the command line while vdr is playing an MP3, this picture is displayed correctly until the next MP3 display update. And even the MP3 display is correct until the next change of the progress bar (!). I'll debug this further, but maybe someone can get some idea from my observations what is going wrong here and give me some help. Wolfgang

Updated suspend patch for vdr 1.3.32

Based on some helpful feedback from Klaus, I simplified my suspend patch. The interface to the solid-state relay will be moved to a separate plugin. There are so many ways to control relays from a PC that it is best to write plugins for relay interfaces as the need arises. The patch introduces three config.h variables, which are 0 by default, and exposed in the Setup/Miscellanous panel: PowerSuspend: 1=enable the Power button control the Suspend flag, 0=normal Suspend: 1=suspend audio and video playback, 0=normal SuspendShutdownWait: After playback was suspended by pressing the Power button, wait this many seconds until shutting down vdr. This feature is disabled if SuspendShutdownWait=0 or PowerSuspend=0 or no -s option is given to vdr. The patch is available at: http://www.funet.fi/~msmakela/software/vdr/vdr-1.3.32-suspend-0.3.patch.gz When compiling, be sure to pass SUSPEND_PATCH=1 to make. The page http://www.funet.fi/~msmakela/software/vdr/ currently documents the previous version of the patch. I will write a relay-control plugin and rewrite my "runvdr" script at some later time. On my system (900 MHz Celeron, 256 MB, vdr, softdevice, DirectFB on Matrox G450), suspending playback cuts the power consumption by 15 to 20 VA, about 20 % of the apparent power consumed when one hard disk is spinning. The power consumption would probably drop more on processors equipped with frequency scaling and thermal throttling. I plan to repeat the measurements with a better instrument that displays actual power consumption in watts instead of apparent power (volt-amps). Marko

Hello, when MenuScrollWrap is activated, menues are going into an endless loop when there are no selectable items. E.g. after 'Recordings' -> 1 -> Up, vdr does not respond anymore. Same happens for non-empty menues which do not have selectable items. The attached patch fixes this (written for 1.3.33, but applies to 1.3.34 too). VDR install issue

Hello: I am running FC4 with DVB-s card installed and working correctly. Now, I'm trying to install VDR following the instructions on http://www.linuxtv.org/vdrwiki/index.php/VDR_installation. First, I installed JPEG as instructed. When I do a make for VDR, I get a bunch of Woverloaded messages followed by this error: make: *** No rule to make target `jpeglib.h', needed by `dvbdevice.o'. Stop. My DVB drivers are installed under /usr/src/kernels/2.6.13- 1.1526_FC4-i686/drivers/media/dvb. The DVB node is /dev/dvb/adapter0. Any help would be appreciated. Than you.

I have installed 2 DVB cards, 1 DVB-s & 1 DVB-c. Both cards have a lot of common channels that they both receive. I can currently view & record these channels now, but I effectively have all channels listed twice, once for the cable card & once for the sat card. Can the channel data be combined in some way so that there is 1 channel name with both the cable & sat settings. This way I would only see the channel listed once & if the cable card was being used to record I could still view a different channel & VDR could determine which card to use. Many thanks Paul

Updating menu items from separate thread

Hi! I have a simple menu derived from cOsdMenu which displays selectable cOsdItem's. Now I want to update the text of the cOsdItem's from a separate thread, which I do basically this way: cOsdItem* item = Get(index); if (item) { item->SetText(text); Display(); } But this doesn't seem to work very well. Sometimes only some of the cOsdItems are correctly shown with the new text, sometimes parts of the menu are completly invisible until I move the selection cursor over this area. Any suggestions? Maybe this isn't possible at all? Regards, Tobias
