[Announce] beta LNB-sharing patch for VDR 1.3.26

Hello! Because of the changes in cEITScanner (EPG-scan) from VDR 1.3.25 to 1.3.26 I was able to simplify the LNB-sharing patch. A beta release of the configurable LNB-sharing patch for VDR 1.3.26 is available at: http://xn--ltzke-jua.de/dvb/VDR_LNB_sharing_patch/BETA-configurableLNBshare… Changes: - adapted to VDR 1.3.26 This release of the LNB-sharing patch has not been tested yet. Plugin: "undelete-0.0.2" does not compile with 1.3.25

vdr-1.3.25 and EPG

Hi All, Since my provider displays *only* now/next infos (because their EPG isn't standard), I download "one week" epg from the web, and fill vdr with it via svdrp. Working Great. Since vdr-1.3.25, I don't use "disable_double_epg patch" anymore. I noticed that vdr, when "now/next epg" and "imported epg" have the same title, choose to display now/next information, and drop others. Is it possible to choose the opposite, because imported web epg is more complete ? (Sorry if this appears to you as an "easy question"). Thanks. Karim.

Autostarting xine

Hello. I want to do 2 things with VDR. 1) Autostart Xine pointing to the VDR MRL when user 'vdruser' logs in Can anyone tell me what command line I should use, and where I should put it? I tried putting 'xine -L --fullscreen --geometry 720x576 --borderless --hide-gui --no-logo --no-splash vdr://tmp/vdr-xine/stream#demux:mpeg_pes' as follows : [vdruser@media ~]$ less ~/.gnome2/session-manual [Default] num_clients=1 0,RestartStyleHint=3 0,Priority=70 0,RestartCommand='xine -L --fullscreen --geometry 720x576 --borderless --hide-gui --no-logo --no-splash vdr://tmp/vdr-xine/stream#demux:mpeg_pes' but that doesn't work 2) Create a shortcut Desktop icon that launches the VDR MRL under Xine. For this, I tried making an icon : [vdruser@media Desktop]$ cat ~/Desktop/Xinevdr.desktop [Desktop Entry] Version=1.0 Encoding=UTF-8 Name=No name Type=Application Exec=xine -L --fullscreen --geometry 720x576 --borderless --hide-gui --no-logo --no-splash vdr://tmp/vdr-xine/stream#demux:mpeg_pes TryExec= X-GNOME-DocPath= Terminal=true Name[en_US]=Xine2 GenericName[en_US]= Comment[en_US]= But this doesn't work either. vdr + streamdev_client + softdevice problem.

Hi, i'm using such a configuration: Server: vdr+streamdev_server Client: vdr+streamdev_client+softdevice(xv output) Everithing works quite well, but somethimes the client exits and i find some error messages in the logs, i attach the interesting lines. This seems to be an error with the ringbuffer, i can easily trigger the problem with softdevice fullscreen feature. Going fullscreen repeatedly makes vdr exit, but I do not know if the problem is caused either by softdevice itself or by streamdev or even by vdr, so i ask you some help. Some info on my configuration: i'm using vanilla vdr 1.3.25, streamdev CVS and softdevice CVS, kernel 2.6.11 and i use LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.1 when launching vdr. Any hints? Any specific info request? Yes, the DVD plugin is broken as it uses 'useDolbyDigital' However I would also like to have seperate settings for use/record DD. Please consider a novice user (WAF ;-) ) and a system were DD schould be recorded (for DVD) but has no DD capable receiver attached. It's easy with audio button to switch to DD and end up with no audio. I personal belive the 'use DD' should be used to control the output capability. So on a box without DD output being used, the audio menu will not allow to switch to DD (or alternatively decode DD and downmix to stereo on analoge out). However the recording to disc should be able to contain DD. As DD5.1 is seldom used and only valid for a specific movie I would prefer a DD recording setting attached to a timer. This would allow selective recording of DD only for this movie. Optionaly this could be used for selective recording of multiple audio tracks (like ARTE supporting german/french). kind regards Peter Dittmann P.S. Sorry if webmail client break thread ;-)

1.3.25 Change Breaks NVOD References

Hi all, The code introduced into 1.3.25 in eit.c which ignores EIT descriptors with a zero duration or start time, has the side-effect of stripping out NVOD references which (at least on my provider) have a zero duration. Attached in a small patch which checks the start time isn't 0xFFFFFFFF (as defined in the DVB reference - see below) before checking the fields for zero. Cheers, Chris -- 5.2.4 Event Information Table (EIT) ... start_time: This 40-bit field contains the start time of the event in Universal Time, Co-ordinated (UTC) and Modified Julian Date (MJD) (see annex C). This field is coded as 16 bits giving the 16 LSBs of MJD followed by 24 bits coded as 6 digits in 4-bit Binary Coded Decimal (BCD). If the start time is undefined (e.g. for an event in a NVOD reference service) all bits of the field are set to "1".

vdr, streamdev, vdr-xine: intermittent lost sound

Hi, I have intermittent problems when watching using the client, sometimes when switching channel the displayed stream seams to have about 1-2 fps and the sound is absent, if I then switch to the same channel again the displayed streams looks as expected and the sound appears again. My configuration is: - A server Athlon 1.4GHz with two DVB-cards, running vdr with streamdev-server plugin. - A client Celeron 2GHz with no DVB-card, running vdr with streamdev-client and vdr-xine plugin, and xine started via freevo. Versions used: vdr 1.3.25 streamdev cvs from 2005-06-06 vdr-xine 0.7.4 xine-lib 1.0.1 xine-ui 0.99.3 Regards Mattias
