Hello, here is a first release of the pvrinput plugin for VDR. It uses a Hauppauge PVR card (supported by ivtv drivers) as an input device for VDR. I am using it with driver version 0.2.0rc3j and encoder firmware 2.04.211. I have written this plugin because I was a bit unhappy about some things with analogtv. Motivated by a mail from Lars Altenhain on this list I tried an approach a bit different from the analogtv plugin. The reading of the PES data an the conversion to TS is done in a thread in the background without interrupting it on channel switch. The packets are then read out and delivered to VDR in the GetTSPacket function. Additionally the plugin reads the teletext data from the vbi device (/dev/vbi0 is hardcoded at the moment) and converts it to TS packets that the osdteletext plugin is able to receive. Sometimes one or two lines are wrong but its working quite good here. Compared to the analogtv plugin the following is better here with my configuration (Hauppauge PVR 250, Kernel 2.6, ivtv 0.2.0rc3j): - Faster channel switching - no video flickerung after channel switch - just minimal stuttering in sound after channel switch - and of course teletext support Expect problems to get it running in your environment, especially regardings device configuration :). VDR crash with DirectFB+softdevice in a Nova-t

Hello list! Firstly I have to say this mail is very long cause I attached lot of information to be helped. My problem is that I have vdr running in my system Fedora Core 2 with kernel 2.6.10. I could see image from some days (two or three maximum) but it's not quite often. The system can't begin to take image unless it has a full-scan made when computer is powered on, but also it crashes lots of times before, so related with this problem I use a script to get all working. 1.3.25: Skin "DeepBlue": No "info" displayed

Hallo again, as already stated in the subject pressing the "info"-button using the DeepBlue skin only an empty page appears. Headline etc. are shown but no content. The standard skin is working correctly. Is this just the skin that has to be updated to the new info/summary handling in 1.3.25? I am using DeepBlue 0.1.2 from http://vdr.pfroen.de/ Thank you, Dirk

vdrsync creates empty ac3-File - change in recording format?

Hello together, I just upgraded to vdr 1.3.25. When I try to create MPG-Files from VDR-recordings with AC3-sound, vdrsync only creates an empty ac3-file - the .mpa and .mpv-files are ok. ac3-sound is correctly contained in the recording: vdr plays the file and "dolby digital" is selectable. I had the same problem after upgrading to 1.3.19. The solution was, that the recording format hat changed in this VDR version. Peter (the vdrsync-developer) then kindly provided a new vdrsync version and everything was ok until the 1.3.25 update. Maybe we have the same problem today? Thank you, Dirk

A new release of the configurable LNB-sharing patch for VDR 1.3 is available at: http://xn--ltzke-jua.de/dvb/VDR_LNB_sharing_patch/configurableLNBshare-VDR_… Changes: - adapted to VDR 1.3.25 The DiSEqC support still needs more testing - I do not have DiSEqC hardware myself. Please provide feedback. I have received a report of problems with a mixed DVB-T DVB-S setup. Due to the lack of hardware I cannot confirm/deny/debug the issue. Does anybody else encounter problems changing the channel of a DVB-T card while recording a DVB-S channel with vertical polarization? vdr delivers wrong time after sucessfull recording

Why does VDR 1.24 deliver the same wakeup time twice? (Debian-Kernel 2.6.11) When VDR shuts down, the wakeup time is OK. But after that power on occured and the recording finshed, VDR delivers the same time again. Again: The most beloved problem: Reentrancy... This C-Function in tools.c looks suspicious: cString TimeToString(time_t t) { char buffer[32]; if (ctime_r(&t, buffer)) { buffer[strlen(buffer) - 1] = 0; // strip trailing newline return buffer; } return "???"; } It's usually no good idea to deference a variable on the stack OUTSIDE the function it self..the next call to an other functiom may overwrite the values! It might work very often, but it is not really much better than a "static"! Is there really no tool like "bounds checker for linux" that will warn at those obvious booby traps? Having a deja vue: I thought all that was "overworked" with the "thread-save" patches 3 month ago? Or didn't these patches made the way into VDR? The fastest fix may be: Make it like in ctime_r an define a buffer pint as parameter. The slowest: use the ugly time wasting asprintf and never forget to free the memory...
