Call for help: anti-aliasing in DrawEllipse()

VDR's OSD uses anti-aliasing for smoothly rendering its fonts. The same could be used to make rendering ellipses look nicer. Is there anybody who might be able to figure out how cBitmap::DrawEllipse() cPixmapMemory::DrawEllipse() and maybe also cBitmap::DrawSlope() cPixmapMemory::DrawSlope() could be modified in order to do anti-aliasing and thus make the drawings smoother? I'm pretty sure at some point along the calculations in these functions there is enough information available to determine a value in the range 0..255 that could be used to generate a shade of foreground/background color that can be used to set intermediate pixels. Of course this would require these functions to be given both fg and bg colors, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there. For starters just assume that both colors will be available. I would appreciate any help on this topic. If you have any suggestions, please post them here, to avoid duplicate work. Klaus

Recording does not stop

Hi, doing some pretty heavy testing of VDR 1.7.21 as part of gen2vdr V3 and have now twice had the case that a recording did not end. Supposed to end at 23:10 yesterday, still going strong at 06:00 this morning. Can't find anything in the history file of VDR that this is a know problem and has been fixed in later versions. [PATCH] toggle between recordings sort order with 0 key

Hi Attached is a patch which allows to toggle the sort order of recordings in the recording menu with vdr-1.7.27 between - name - date - recording length by pressing 0 key. At least I have found this to be very useful feature when trying to find a just made recording from which you do not know/remember the exact name to search from the long list of recordings. The thing I do not like in the patch is that the user must know this "0" key as all 4 colors are already reserved in VDR for other functions in recordings menu. (play, go to beginning, delete and info). But I do not know any better way to handle this at the moment. Recording two programmes with identical details

Say I tried to record the same programme twice, once from DVB-T and once from DVB-S, can VDR manage that? As they have different ids they should appear as unrelated to one part of VDR, but as they have the same titles and times it might want to make the same filenames for both of them and clash. Or is that what the last digit just before the .rec part of the directory name is for? How would I be able to tell which is which in the OSD etc? Would they be ordered by adapter number?

Force VDR to save channels.conf

Hello, I have a headless vdr server - witch is just used for streamdev and xbmc. I would like to update my channels.conf as it is pretty outdated right now.... I have set the following in setup.conf and vdr is now searching and is detecting new channels. UpdateChannels = 5 How ever - when I restart VDR the changes are not getting saved to channels.conf. What can I do to make it save channels.conf? I think that last time I had to do this I had to connect via VNC and the vdr-ffnetdev plugin to get the OSD and to "press" the power button to make it shutdown and save the changes... Is there an easier was to do this? Thanks, Artem

Hi, the new streamdev release 0.6.0 is available from http://projects.vdr-developer.org/projects/plg-streamdev/files. The server-side setting "Suspend behaviour" has been dropped in 0.6.0 in favour of priority based precedence. A priority of 0 and above means that clients have precedence. A negative priority gives precedence to local live TV on the server. So if "Suspend behaviour" was previously set to "Client may suspend" or "Never suspended", you will have to configure a negative priority. If the "Suspend behaviour" was set to "Always suspended", the default values should do. *** Compatibility *** At least VDR 1.7.25 is required on the server. Negative priorities won't work as expected unless at least VDR 1.7.27 is installed. For the streamdev-client plugin at least VDR 1.5.16 is required. Due to changes in the client code, streamdev-client is not compatible with streamdev-server versions 0.5.1-priotest and 0.5.2-git. A vanilla 0.5.1, 0.5.2 or any 0.5.1-git version will do. *** Required config changes *** Configure the desired priorities for HTTP and IGMP Multicast streaming in the settings of streamdev-server. If you haven't updated all your streamdev clients to at least 0.5.2, configure "Legacy Client Priority", too. In streamdev-client, you should set "Minimum Priority" to -99. Adjust "Live TV Priority" if necessary. *** Disclaimer *** Though the new version works for me, there are several things I don't use in my production environment and things I can't test at all (e.g. encrypted channels). Feedback welcome. *** Changelog *** - Reimplemented some client device methods - Proper fix for "client sends ABRT after TUNE". Bad choices of USB cards

Hello I use VDR a few years, but lately I changed my system into ITX (AMD Brazos) and so changed PCI DVB-S2 card into USB. Additionaly I has bought DVB-T tuner. While buying hardware I was sure I buy hardware which is supported in-kernel, so no need to hunt for driver. Unfortunatelly every from three card I have doesn't work properly. The first: Terratec Cinergy S2 USB HD. Kernel has drivers, but only for the first revision. Second revision which I have need a patch. Patch is even on linux-media http://patchwork.linuxtv.org/patch/10294/ , but isn't finished so no hope to have it in kernel soon. Anyway I have applied it's modified version from http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=653026 to kernel 3.2 and it's almost work. Almost, because sometimes recording becames unplayable. Recording recors eveything, but I can play only some part of file from beginning. The rest is unplayable. Looking for something widely used I choosed Pinnacle PCTV SAT HDTV 452E PRO USB. Problems with it i've described in thread: "[PATCH, RFC] STB0899 signal strength (pctv452e, others too?)" The last miss was buying USB DVB-T stick based on Af9015. Generally it works, but only a few minutes. I suspect it overheats... So I ask: if somebody has one of cards above working, please give me a note with which kernel and with which driver it does work. Also I wold welcome advice, which from those rather cheap USB cards works without any problems on stock linux kernel. Marx Ps. Now I'm so desperated that I've installed 2.6 kernel and I will try Liplianin driver with it. Hovewer having 2.6 and 3.2 kernels installed together I don't know how to tell dkms to build only for 2.6 (in 3.x Liplianin kernel will not compile)

DVD menu issue

I have recently installed the dvd and dvdswitch on a new vdr system using a TT S2-6400 and am seeing a problem I did not have on the previous "full feature" card based setup. On all DVD images, the menu highlight area, (that moves around as you navigate the menu), is either horizontally or vertically, (depending on DVD), displaced by a large amount. Is anyone else seeing this? vdr-1.2.27 libdvdnav-0.1.10 libdvdcss-1.2.11 Regards, Richard
