Version 0.2.5 of the dxr3 plugin doesn't work with VDR 1.4.0 without patching. Anyway, 0.2.6 is kind of out, just waiting to be uploaded to sourceforge. In the meantime, you can grab it at http://cachalot.mine.nu/src/dxr3/ or use CVS from the vdr-dxr3-0-2 branch.
