Hi,
I loaded vdr-1.3.24 yesterday. It built OK, installed and I rebooted just to ensure I had clean everything.
I updated yesterday and have no problems!
But i did not update the DVB drivers! (Forgot it, too it realatively complicate as i use a AverMedia DVB-T card too)
Watching TV was fine, worked well. But as soon as I started to record something I got very jittery, stuttering display. Seems I started getting video stream errors which caused VDR to crash:
System is a P2.4, running Mandrake 10.0, and a 2.6.5 kernel. DVB's come direct from the kernel. Using a TT-FF terrestrial card.
Here it's a 2.4.29 and the DVB drivers linuxtv-dvb-1.1.1 and DVB-S FF (TT) and DVB-T (avermedia)
COULD it be, that after many attempts to get DVD recording working with lots of kernel extensions loaded, I have adjusted the kernel integrity? Is this the time to restart the OS and go back to a clean install? It would be a pain (as I don't have a display screen on the VDR box) but potentially do-able. Thoughts?
Try "vanilla" VDR first.
