for vdr 170 it's s2api patch from Niels Wagenaar http://www.linuxtv.org/pipermail/vdr/2008-October/017964.html it is working perfectly on my vdr 170
Looks like there is also a newer patch posted in

@Niels: can you confirm that vdr-1.7.0-s2api-07102008-h264-clean.patch is your "latest, greatest" S2API patch for VDR?
