What's the best way to shut down VDR without the process exiting prematurely? By that I mean before it has performed all of it's cleanup tasks (like saving setup.conf, channels.conf, etc). I was told that the method that comes with runvdr ("/usr/bin/killall -q -TERM") kills it instantly and it doesn't have time to do cleanup.
VDR catches the TERM signal and terminates gracefully. You were told wrong.
Also, can an svdrp command be added to perform a VDR shutdown? I notice the svdrp command "QUIT" described as "Exit VDR" but after testing this command, nothing happened.
