My setup is a Hauppauge full-feature DVB-C w/CI+CAM in a Fedora Core 4 installation with ready-built vdr-1.3.37-0.lvn.1.4 and vdradmin-0.97-1.lvn.6.am3.4.2.4 from Livna.org.
Last night, I noticed an interesting thing and today I was able to confirm it: when the vdr process gets a bit older (a few hours?), something happens to the dvb drivers and they start producing errors about every 30 seconds, even losing channel lock occasionally. Once vdr has been restarted (even though in this setup the dvb kernel drivers do not seem to get reloaded) everything returns to normal.
Attached are two text files, before.txt and after.txt, which show the status output of femon (from dvb-apps-1.1.0-1.fc4) while a 12-hour old vdr is running and immediately after a restart.
Am I just imagining things, or is this something that would need to be researched further?
