I'm not aware of any DVB-T2 specific code in VDR 1.7.x
AFAIK, DVB-T2 at least needs support for QAM_256. I don't think the DVB-T tuner in VDR 1.6 supports anything better than QAM_64, so adding QAM_256 would definitely be a start.
