But when I do get a channel tuned ok, the audio starts/stops/starts/stops/starts - and sometimes just starts/stops and then stays off. I'm running vdr-xine 0.8.2.

On working channels this card works fine for me, no audio issues. Running DVB-S FF card as primary device.

Should I be changing to the multi-proto drivers - there's no h264 or HD on my cable provider yet.

I don't know, but I'm using multiproto drivers (I have DVB-S2 card on my system).
