what does "At the moment it publishes parts of the local OSD menu contents" mean? Is the OSD available grapically at the SVDRP port by telnet (like with control plugin)?
No, there's no graphics. svdrpext keeps track of the events available through the VDR cStatus interface - just like the control plugin. The control plugin offers the information it gathered as "pseudo graphics" via telnet. Svdrpext in contrast publishes it in SVDRP. The remoteosd plugin uses this to recreate the server OSD on a client VDR.
