If the plugins is downloading the info file from the freedb database, than all is fine. May be it's a bit confusing, that the browser never uses the songs informations (neiter ID3 nor cddb). They are only used during playback and in the playlist editor.

Is the cddb support broken now?

Right now, there are no clues for that. Otherwise, please send me a _console_ log of the cddb access and playback of of one of the songs on the cd.
