Maybe I'll have a look at it tomorrow.
Meanwhile, you could have a look at this issue with this gdb command:
thread apply all bt
It'll tell you the backtrace for all threads.
Oops, with the new patched ffmpeg/xine-lib-1.2/vdr-xine it don't segfault (but I still can't access my VDR after a "shutdown try".
