[vdr] ERROR: video data stream broken - why?

I'm trying to record from an MPEG-2 stream and I'm getting an error "ERROR: video data stream broken".

I've narrowed down the problem to remux.c where it's looking for the Picture Start Code (0x00000100) and it's never finding it so it's timing out. I'm not exactly sure why this is happening since everything works fine in other DVB applications, etc.
