Which should I use? I currently use vdr-xine, but launch mplayer to play .avi movie files as vdr-xine doesn't give me remote control support. Any suggestions?
I've only recently discovered xineliboutput but find it much more featureful and easier to setup than vdr-xine.
I don't know what distro you're using, but I have started writing a guide to setup of VDR and xineliboutput with Ubuntu Dapper if it's any use to you: http://linuxtv.org/vdrwiki/index.php/UBUNTU/Installation
