I do not know, but for me noad sometimes segfaults (possibly due to an uncompatible index file for the recording). Did you try to run noad from the command line?
i found the problem now. It was a problem with the libmpeg2-dev package after reinstalling it, some files are replaced and now noad is running fine again.
