i want to use astra and hotbird, but i don't know how. what is the easiest way? at the moment i have a quad-lnb for astra and two dvb-s cards. i wanted to by a additional lnb for hotbird and put it together on the satellite dish. but how do i have to connect it to the computer?
Use one diseqc per receiver (DVB-S card).
and if i have a third card. does vdr know which card can use diseqc and which not. is it possible to configure this?
Not out of the box but look for the SourceCaps Patch. It lets you define which card can receive which source.
BTW: Probably something what should be included into VDR soon.
I agree. :-)
Klaus, is there anything I can do to the SourceCaps patch to make it acceptable to you?
Carsten.
Well, there is also the problem with "LNB sharing", which also goes into that direction. If I start working in that area, I want to implement a "clean" solution that covers everything.
But right now there won't be any new VDR developer versions, anyway. Version 1.4 needs to "settle" first, and then I'll start working on things where I already have an idea on how to do them ;-)
