Hi,
another one missed. This time the timer was valid:
Mar 5 15:27:00 vdr vdr: [21274] timer 8 (2 1529-1539 'Hinter den Kulissen von Dresden') entered VPS margin Mar 5 15:41:00 vdr vdr: [21274] deleting timer 8 (2 1529-1539 'Hinter den Kulissen von Dresden') Mar 5 15:44:03 vdr vdr: [21281] channel 2 (ZDF) event 12:15 'Wintersport' status 3 Mar 5 15:46:03 vdr vdr: [21281] channel 2 (ZDF) event 15:30 'Hinter den Kulissen von Dresden' status 4
same thing yesterday evening:
Mar 4 22:27:00 vdr vdr: [18784] timer 9 (2 2229-2239 'Hinter den Kulissen von "Dresden"') entered VPS margin Mar 4 22:41:00 vdr vdr: [18784] deleting timer 9 (2 2229-2239 'Hinter den Kulissen von "Dresden"') Mar 4 23:08:05 vdr vdr: [18790] channel 2 (ZDF) event 22:30 'Hinter den Kulissen von "Dresden"' status 4
How long does vdr wait for the event to actually start? Can I change that somewhere?
Snother thing I found while looking at the logs:
Mar 4 22:03:00 vdr vdr: [18784] timer 6 (14 2205-2350 'Rhythm Is It!') entered VPS margin Mar 4 22:05:00 vdr vdr: [18784] timer 6 (14 2205-2350 'Rhythm Is It!') start Mar 4 22:05:00 vdr vdr: [18784] record /video/Rhythm_Is_It!/2006-03-04.22.05.50.50.rec Mar 4 22:05:03 vdr vdr: [18784] timer 6 (14 2205-2350 'Rhythm Is It!') stop Mar 4 22:05:49 vdr vdr: [18784] timer 6 (14 2205-2350 'Rhythm Is It!') start Mar 4 22:05:49 vdr vdr: [18784] record /video/Rhythm_Is_It!/2006-03-04.22.05.50.50.rec Mar 4 22:05:51 vdr vdr: [18784] timer 6 (14 2205-2350 'Rhythm Is It!') stop Mar 4 22:06:31 vdr vdr: [18784] timer 6 (14 2205-2350 'Rhythm Is It!') start Mar 4 22:06:31 vdr vdr: [18784] record /video/Rhythm_Is_It!/2006-03-04.22.05.50.50.rec Mar 4 22:06:31 vdr vdr: [20309] cAudioRepacker(0xC1): skipped 32 bytes to syncon next audio frame Mar 4 22:06:31 vdr vdr: [20309] cAudioRepacker(0xC0): skipped 208 bytes to sync on next audio frame Mar 4 22:06:33 vdr vdr: [18784] timer 6 (14 2205-2350 'Rhythm Is It!') stop Mar 4 22:07:14 vdr vdr: [18784] timer 6 (14 2205-2350 'Rhythm Is It!') start Mar 4 22:07:14 vdr vdr: [18784] record /video/Rhythm_Is_It!/2006-03-04.22.05.50.50.rec Mar 4 22:07:15 vdr vdr: [20313] cAudioRepacker(0xC0): skipped 4 bytes while syncing on next audio frame Mar 4 22:07:17 vdr vdr: [18784] timer 6 (14 2205-2350 'Rhythm Is It!') stop Mar 4 22:07:55 vdr vdr: [18784] timer 6 (14 2205-2350 'Rhythm Is It!') start Mar 4 22:07:55 vdr vdr: [18784] record /video/Rhythm_Is_It!/2006-03-04.22.05.50.50.rec Mar 4 22:07:57 vdr vdr: [18784] timer 6 (14 2205-2350 'Rhythm Is It!') stop Mar 4 22:08:38 vdr vdr: [18784] timer 6 (14 2205-2350 'Rhythm Is It!') start Mar 4 22:08:38 vdr vdr: [18784] record /video/Rhythm_Is_It!/2006-03-04.22.05.50.50.rec Mar 4 22:08:41 vdr vdr: [18784] timer 6 (14 2205-2350 'Rhythm Is It!') stop Mar 4 22:08:47 vdr vdr: [18793] channel 14 (arte) event 22:05 'Rhythm Is It!' status 4 Mar 4 22:08:48 vdr vdr: [18784] timer 6 (14 2205-2350 'Rhythm Is It!') start Mar 4 22:08:48 vdr vdr: [18784] record /video/Rhythm_Is_It!/2006-03-04.22.05.50.50.rec Mar 4 23:52:33 vdr vdr: [18784] timer 6 (14 2205-2350 'Rhythm Is It!') stop Mar 4 23:52:34 vdr vdr: [18784] cleaning up schedules data Mar 4 23:52:34 vdr vdr: [18784] deleting timer 6 (14 2205-2350 'Rhythm Is It!')
What makes vdr go mad like this? The running status doesn't seem to change.
Seems like a bad week for VPS timers.
Cheers Jan

Apparently there is a problem if the actual event start time isn't adjusted by the broadcaster. I'll look into this. Unfortunately this weekend I didn't have any time for VDR...

Is this log excerpt complete (no intermediate lines removed)? At the moment I have no idea why it would behave that strange.

Fine.

Almost. There are just a couple cron entries and some running status changes on other channels. If you need them, I will post them.

What's also missing are all the log messages regarding file creation etc. Are you running VDR with limited logging?
Anyway, please do provide the complete log excerpt.
