Hi everyone,
I am using vdr version 1.7.16 and I have discovered some A/V Sync problems after jumping to another mark or jumping with the yellow/green button.
Is that an already-known-problem?
I had some problems with vdr-1.7.x and vdr-xine front end with audio sync, but fixed them in xine.
What front end are you using? ----- Original Message ----- From: Christopher Reimer To: vdr@linuxtv.org Sent: Thursday, November 25, 2010 7:50 AM Subject: [vdr] dvbsddevice-Plugin: Problems with A/V Sync

Frontend??? I'm using a Technotrend Full-Featured Card. So the backend is the Full-Featured Card and the frontend, too
Ah. Can't help you then, sorry! ----- Original Message ----- From: Christopher Reimer To: VDR Mailing List Sent: Sunday, November 28, 2010 7:10 AM Subject: Re: [vdr] dvbsddevice-Plugin: Problems with A/V Sync

Anyone else?
I'm on 1.7.16 using a FF card, and I'm not seeing this, neither with old PES recordings nor with new TS recordings. In fact, its more common that a/v sync builds up and I have to do some jumping to get it back in sync.

OK, I think I know the reason of my A/V-Problems.... The Harddrive is too slow. (Activy 300 => UDMA 66)

Sure?
For years now, I've been running slow spinning disks on an VIA EPIA board that theoretically delivers UDMA133, but never actually reaches more than 30Mb/s transfer rate. Thats still enough to have several concurring recordings, some instances of noad and a playback without any problems.
You have any real world data on your disk speed? dd if=/dev/hda of=/dev/null bs=16384 count=100000 for example?
Cheers,
Udo
