CHANGELOG.txt does not mention any changes between 0.50 and 0.52, is that correct?

Has anyone had any luck with Softdevice and an NVIDIA 6800Ultra? Also I hear of problems with like the TI4200 etc. My issue with my 6800 is through XV I get video on whatever channel I have VDR set to start with, but if I change channels I lose it, and only get OSD from there on. And can't get it back without restarting VDR, it will start on any channel I set it to start with in the SETUP.CONF but once I change it is gone. As where if I use DFB which is what I would rather use, I don't get video at all, just OSD and AUDIO on the first channel, but again if I change it goes away.
I am using CVS of Softdevice, DirectFB and DFB++ and have this issue. If anyone has any tips or tricks, they are gladly welcome!
Thanks

Thereis a similar report on dfb-user list.

But thats different. At the first time, when you get video (xv-out) do you have video and OSD, or video only ?
Which driver do you use with X11 ? The binary only (from nvidia) or the one with sources from XFree, Xorg ?

No audio ? Only OSD ?

Thanks for your reply,
I do get OSD all the time, just the actual video goes. I honestly haven't messed much with the xv video drivers, but will try and goof with them some and report back, but my main goal was to get it going with DFB but that might not be possible, I don't know! When doing DFB I get no video period I only get the VDR OSD, and when I first start it I get audio on the channel it starts on, just no video. But if I change channels all I get is OSD, I lose audio. I hope I am explaining this good enough for ya! :) I will see what I can do about the X drivers and let you know the results.
Thanks again for the help.

Update to question:
I installed the latest NVIDIA drivers from NVIDIA's website dated 12/5/05 and same problem. Get video on whatever I have set for the channel in setup.conf but as soon as I change to another channel I lose video. This is after disabling DFB in my kernel and installing the NVIDIA drivers and running Softdevice with the -vo xv: command.
Thanks

Loosing audio may indicate some other problem. When this happens do you get some ' buffer full' messages in your syslog ?
I hope I am explaining this good enough for ya! :)
Hopefully I understood you right .

An attempt without closed source drivers would be helpfull.
Well at the moment I think the source of your problem has something to do with color-keying. Thats the way OSD and video are mixed. Where OSD is drawn in BLACK video should be visible, any other color should show as is (no video).
Softdevice OSD drawing method could be changed to software alpha blending. Thats in our setup: "OSD alpha blending:" with values: "pseudo" | "software" and applies _not_ for dfb-out.
Thanks again for the help.
