When updating from version 1.4.7 please make sure you read the INSTALL and MANUAL files that come with the VDR source _before_ doing so! Please make sure you have backup copies of all your configuration files, and verify carefully that your timers will be set to the correct channels after switching to this new version.
Thanks to the many people who have contributed in the making, testing and debugging of this new version of VDR.

first : many thanks for your great piece of software! I'm using vdr since years now, it's my only video recorder. It's configured with vdr-xine as output, as I have two budget-cards. Working fine.
When I read vdr-1.6.0 is out, I updated xine (-lib and -ui) and vdr-xine (thanks to Reinhard too) to the latest versions, compiled, started and .. it runs fine !

Hi,
i set it to ISO8859-15. I feed most channels via tvmovie2vdr and collect EPG for the Premiere Direkt Channels via premiereepg-plugin. With the above setting, all umlauts are correct.
