Have you checked that the sequence numbers for VDR's CLEARs match the ones which xine outputs?
Does this problem only occur with xine's dxr3 output driver?
After reading what Peter wrote about 0.7.4 and rewinds, I guess I'll upgrade to 0.7.4 first to see if it has been fixed by itself :-)
If not, I'll check these...

Fast Forward and rewind work in single-speed mode or the fastest mode if multi-speed is enabled. Slow motion also worked in the quick test I did. I haven't tried moving any cut marks or editing on that version yet...

Hi group.
1) Just when I thought I had this licked! I had this working, but now even after 4 new installs of VDR I get the same result
I've rebuilt my box running FC3 2.6.11.8 and video4linux-20050403-221421.tar with a WinTV Nova-T.
I'm installing vdr-1.3.23 with xine plugin vdr-xine-0.7.4.tar (have also tried vdr-xine-0.7.3.tar with the same result - although I think this has nothing to do with skincurses)
I make the skincurses plugin, as normal, and kick everything off with: ./vdr -P'xine -r' -P'skincurses'
VDR seems to work ok under X, but the skincurses won't start on a shell. All I get on the shell is : [root@media vdr-1.3.23]# ./runvdr.sh SetVideoFormat: 0
any help would be appreciated!!
I tried calling -l3 to get some logging - but don't see where this is being generated or logged??
2) When I've done the above and want to cancel VDR, I do a CTRL-C to exit runvdr.sh. The prompt I'm left with won't CR (carriage return) properly. I don't get a line feed - and the shell is screwed. I have to exit out and log back in again! Any ideas on this one too??
Thanks
Simon
Hi
I'm having trouble controlling VDR under Xine, and can't get the remote to work. Remote: I installed the plugin remote-0.3.3 and tried calling it with "vdr -P'xine' -P'remote'" It doesn't accept any remote commands and it disables my keyboard!!
Keyboard: If I run just plain "vdr -P'xine'" and start VDR under Xine, I can't get menus up much else under VDR. None of the Function keys work. The only keys that work are : b borders up/down on numpad - with numlock off, channel change \ or < - decrease window size | or > - increase l - playlist/loop/shuffle + - audio channel h - hide g - hide xine control panel f - fullscreen d - blank the screen a - aspect z or Z zoom in and out e exit VDR t - screenshot capture i interlace disable END - SPU offset:reset HOME - AV Offset:reset
Are these Xine key contols? Or a subset of VDR's
Hi,
never used the remote with xine, but keyboard should work after configuration under xine. You can do this in the context menu of xine. There are several vdr specific entries, that have to be assigned to the keys you want.

Did you actually select the curses skin as the current skin?

I'm sorry?
How do I select the curses skin? In the past I just started it with ./vdr -P'xine -r' -P'skincurses'

Hi everyone.
I found a German VDR site that explained this. sed -i "s/^OSDSkin =.*/OSDSkin = curses/" /video/setup.conf
Unfortunately I could find NO English site with this explanation on it! http://www.linuxtv.org/vdrwiki/index.php/Skincurses-plugin English site lacking.. http://www.vdr-wiki.de/wiki/index.php/Skincurses-plugin German site
I really should learn German!!

Well, basically this command changes OSDSkin = whatever to OSDSkin = curses in setup.conf :-), which is the same as selecting curses as current skin within the OSD setup menu.
Greetings, Sascha
I demand that Simon Baxter may or may not have written...

Whoops. You've only gone and selected "follow up" (or "reply") and put this in the middle of the vdr-xine thread...

How do I select the curses skin? In the past I just started it with ./vdr -P'xine -r' -P'skincurses'
Please read vdr-xine's HISTORY (0.7.3) more carefully. And MANUAL will explain the following switches:
./vdr -P'xine -q -r -s' -P'skincurses'
Bye.
