Lauri, I've found only one manual so far: http://www.linuxtv.org/vdrwiki/index.php/VDR_User%27s_Manual. It doesn't contain a word on setup.conf. Also studied the entire wiki, the man page. Could you please provide a link to the exact manual you mean? TIA.

The file MANUAL, included in the vdr distribution.

File MANUAL should be included with your VDR-package, if not then..
Get the VDR-source vdr-1.6.0.tar.bz2 from http://www.cadsoft.de/vdr/download.htm untar to directory Go to generated directory vdr-1.6.0 and read MANUAL Also man-pages vdr.1 and vdr.5 contain usefull info

In that page section '1.15 Parameters in the Setup menu' contains the information you are looking for, expect it is out-of-date, old. So you are better off by getting the Real Thing, The Source of VDR.
